Anyone we know? I think parting from the TVR might hurt paul :o

EDIT:
[Obvious joke]
How much oil did you give the new owner away with him / her ? :)
[/Obvious joke]

Nope, it was some guy from PH, think his login is m1nky or something. Going from and Audi A3 diesel to a T350!

Cheeky git :P As it happens, I gave him nowt as they resolved the oil problem by replacing some worn valve guides and since then it hadn't used a drop

Just out of interest, whats happening with tvr? I originally wanted a t350 but am too worried about the future of tvr to buy. Lovely car by the way again one of the best i've seen on the net. You must be mega sad to see it go! Iain

I don't know exactly at the moment - half the problem is the lack of communication as to the future of the company. So it's only what I've gathered from PH and confirmed by an article in the Times last Sunday. It seems that Peter Wheeler still owns the land that the Blackpool factory is on and that he only signed a short lease with NS. NS owes PW a fair bit in rent (from what I hear the rate was deliberately extortionate) and therefore the factory has to close. The sneaky way of doing it is to create a company called Blackpool Automotive, essentially the factory and its workers, and another one called TVR Motors, which has all the assets and intellectual property. BA was sold to an un-named source about a week ago and then put into administration, therefore removing NS obilgation to pay any debtors, including PW and the workers redundancy pay. TVR Motors remains un-affected. So, in summary a cheap way of shutting the factory down.

As for the future - Ricardo has taken over the development of the Speed 6 engine to make it Euro IV compliant and may actually build it more robustly as well. Body and final assembly will be done by Bertone in Italy and a 600bhp Typhon supercar should be coming soon. There's a press release on TVR's website that says warranties are still valid so that is positive (whether you should believe anything they say at the moment is another thing entirely), and an official announcement should be made on 17th Jan from what I hear. TVR Power is also taking a lot more work on as well (doing any engine warranty at the moment afaik) and will be the new central hub in the UK I'm reckoning

For those willing to take the risk, this could be a very good time to pick a TVR up at a bargain price - I sold mine for quite a lot less than the asking...

And yep I was very sad seeing it drive off this morning :( But then it is a substantial financial burden removed and now I can get on with my future plans :D
