i have both magnetic and ir laptimer in this dash.that is mega cool man. i was looking at the stack stuff and predictive lap timing / software for comparing laps etc and the only thing putting me off (apart from the pricethis dash fully interfaces with my MBE-system (and others) and shows whatever i want on display (programmable).
it log the gforces for up to 2h racing and can draw a speedline after that and compare each lap to another.
will take a while to learn i guess![]()
it´s a kart-steeringwheel and it´s 300mm.
//anders) was that you need an infra red beacon on track side to get all the functionality - do you need one with this gizmo?
almost every track here is equipped with a wire under the tarmac that gives the trigger needed and if it´s missing i can use the ir.
under practice or race there´s always at least a couple of ir-transmitters by the track from different teams.

hmmm...my wallet breathes a sigh of relief....If you're caught timing on a trackday you'll be booted off and in theory could invalidate the PL insurance on the day - don't do it.
Are there any days where timing is allowed without having to enter a full blown competition?

Most circuits do testing days but i think you have to have a MSA licenseAre there any days where timing is allowed without having to enter a full blown competition?

Best you can do and still stay within the regs is mount a DV cam – you can time it to a fraction of a second that way – not 1/100ths, but who of us is that good that it really has to be that accurate? If you're caught timing on a trackday you'll be booted off and in theory could invalidate the PL insurance on the day - don't do it.
