As promised, find attached photo(1) of S2 lightweight fuel tank. My Opel dealer should try to implement it on my car today.

According to my Opel dealer only modifications to be performed, concern adding of two small pipes neck for venting system in order to match with original fuel tank design. This should be done this friday and fuel tank should be install on the car next week. Hole for S2 fuel pump is identical to VX fuel pump. So except venting point, S2 lightweight fuel tank is perfectly suitable to be adapted on VX. :P I will put photos and data of this modification (weight gain, capacity of new tank) week 52 . Best regards CHRIS

I already ask this question to my Opel dealer. He saids me that venting system is connected to the air inlet system, and that air flow wich came from fuel tank venting system is taken into account by engine control system. He adds for safety (and legal) reasons it is "better" to keep orginal design. From my side I think it is possible (without major problem) to modify and remove existing venting system. If you examine similar S2 fuel system venting system, design is little bit different. There is only one fuel tank vent hose located on fuel filling pipe, close to fuel plug, the other vent pipe (from charcoal filter) go directly to atmosphere. This is the reason why there is no venting hoses directly connect on S2 fuel tank. If you are intereted I can send you workshop manual of S2 where all that is explained. :) Best Regards Chris

today I was analyzing the fuel hoses, and they are incredible how many and convoluted they are.....one small hose runs from the butterfly valve to a small canister......wondering if eliminating it will cause any trouble...I guess I'll have to disconnect it, close the intake connector with a screw, and start the engine.... there is probably 2 kg worth of hoses, canisters and clamps.... :o I also succedeed to shave another 1,1 kg, trimming away part of the exhaust shroud...my komo-tec is so small that actually only the upper part against the trunk is needed... :P

some new pics of the mould-building. we are going to make some design-changes on the rear-end. the panel above the rollhoop is moved and shortend because of our new rollhoop is higher to increase interiorspace. we had only 2cm from helmet to roof with original height. the enginebonnet will be shorten and a wall from the roofpanel down to the heatoutlet on the bonnet will be made.
