Alex, how are you measuring the inlet temp? Via data logging or visually from a gauge? I'd be really interested to see a trace from a lap on track if the former (similar to <this one> I posted a while back from a lap at Bruntingthorpe - pre chargecooler).

Jon mentioned the new front pre-rad and fans a while back. I hadn't realised they were changing the full system though. Swirl pot position is excellent... exactly where I was planning to remount mine. And the 20mm pipework is much better, the flow rate on the 7mm plastic piping on mine is too low. Will need to see if I can cannabilise some of the parts onto mine thumbsup

Gary, unfortunately the intake temp readings on track were taken from a dash mounted gauge, the probe for which is installed just infront of the map sensor boss in the top tank of the charge cooler. Courtenay's may have the data available from what they logged on the dyno. If you find yourself down this end of the country i would be more than happy for you to take some readings from my car, alternatively, if your planning a few track days early this year then let me know as we may be able to meet up. My next planned track day is Abberville at easter but i may try and get a few sneaky ones in before then if possible. *EDIT* Alex OS is employed by Pro Alloy who supply the Courtenay charge cooler kit, therefore his comments need to be read with that in mind.

Here's a picture of the NEW Courtenay Sport chargecooler kit:

And here's the header tank for the chargecooler:

Whilst we realise the price of this kit has gone up it is for the following reasons:

We are now using a Pre Rad that is the same size as the underside of the water radiator. This 3 -4 times larger than our old one and anything else we have seen. Attached to this is a laser cut twin fan mounting bracket, complete with twin Spal fans.

The heat exchanger is quite simply huge. The old unit had 3 cores inside we now have 5 each one with greater surface area.

Bosch electronic water pump.

Finally the header tank has a much larger capacity, mounted as far way from the heat source and holds 3.5 litres of water.

In short there are a lot more components, material and product in the kit. :D :D

IF i were to buy such a kit (the Pro Alloy/Courtney one) does it come with comprehensive instructions/pictures or would i end up with 4 clips & 3 feet of pipe at the end of it like an Ikea flat pack?

whats the estimated fitting time or price roughly??

i thought i read you dont need the rear clam of to fit this kit? or did i imagine it?
