Hurrah I thought when I got home from work. One large box sitting in the hallway containing a backbox for my VXT. I procede to upon the box up just to check everything is there and in good working order. I look at the receipt and it says "VX220 Turbo Larini Sports Rear Silencer", so good so far. I then work my way through the hundreds of layers of newspaper and bubble wrap to find my silencer and tail pipe.

However not is all as peachy as it first appears. There were stickers on both parts on the bubble wrap saying "LARVX220-NA Vauxhall VX 220 Rear T/P" and "LARVX220-NA Vauxhall VX 220 Rear Silencer". Am I'm simply deluding myself that they have stuck NA stickers on Turbo parts or am I looking at sending them back.

I enclose pictures below of the exhaust and the one from the Larini website. Any help would be much appreciated before I phone Dave at Larini tomorrow.

Very nice, makes me regret spending that money on furniture last month even more :beat:

Question: what's diameter is the pipe at the the flange?

Now the question is, who is going to try to fit it themselves, and battle with the rusted bolts :tt: While I'm here, what size bolts are they that hold the backbox on? I'd replace them with SS ones if I do it, or get someone else to do it.

When you say flange I am assuming you mean where the backbox connects onto the cat with the three bolts in a triangular arrangement. At this point the internal diameter of the pipe is 58mm and the outside diameter is 70mm. I do apologise for my mechanical ineptness in advance if this is the wrong point. :P

Yes, booked in at TMS this Fri, for a Stage 1 too (well hopefully it can be Stage 1 and a bit with the new backbox on!)

The backbox is in the shape of an extruded ellipse. The backbox is 350mm long by 200mm wide. Looking at the end of the backbox the ellipse is 200mm across by 60mm tall. Hope this helps.

Ordered mine on the 28th Feb (poor Dave was going through invoices...) and he said I'd have to wait for 3-4 weeks so that it could be manufactured. That suits me. And I'm planning to change mine myself (at least with some assistance). I'll keep you informed when it turns up (and I finally end up fitting it :o ). Nathan - thumbsup for the password and setting this up

urmm, sorry about this but its a long thread. I have in a box in the garage a BlueFlame pre cat pipe and a BlueFlame 200 cell catalyst I assume this back box would fit as it should all be standard fitments? if so how much is the backbox for a VX Turbo. Thanks

Come on Mike :poke: , let us have a look at the new exhaust and was it straight forward to fit? How does it sound and what power gains did you get? (sorry about the numerous questions, just thatI'm excited as I get one soon). Nathan :groupjump:

Just spoke to Dave at Larini and there seems to be an alignment issue with the bracketry, so with that in mind he has delayed the release until he has the chance to fit one of our group buys at Larini on friday (so they are sure that there are no issues with fitting) . so everything being sorted then the back boxes will be out next week and the cats and pipes out the week after.

Just got off the phone to Dave at Larini and he has said that there is no issue with the bracketry, just that they are handed and this must have been the problem, the exact exhaust that came back to Larini with this alignment issue has just been fitted with in an hour and a half with no issues at all.
So expect all the back boxes to be shipped starting this week coming.

Cheers Nathan (like a big kid waiting for xmas morning now)

Im gonna have a quick look myself but will prob take it to national tyres in Burton on Trent. They said theyll do it for £60!! :D Ive used them before for tyres, brake discs/pads and theyre a decent bunch. They've worked on a vx and elises before so it should go all ok.
