Hi Roy! There's a few of us up here... getting better now after some lean years when people like captain sold their motor for something more family friendly ;)

The VXR by the way will be Iain G, he's getting about a lot lately (see below)!! :D

I'm another from Aberdeen. Cant wait to see the VXR. Good to see another Tuned VXt. I have a slight tuned version Stage 3.5 VXT with various bits added through the last 2 years. Martin

Hi Martin

I'm another to add to the Aberdeen vx owners, however poor me just has an n/a. Can you please tell me if you or other Aberdeen vx owners have a preferred garage that you use for work on your cars. I would really like to add some mods to the car but I've been unable to source anyone that could do them properly.

I look forward to any help you can give.

Cheers
Craig

I've always had a good service at Belmont but i know others havn't. I speak to Colin the VX specialist regular. Tuning mods were carried out by TMS in Milton keynes other stuff was done by myself.

Thanks Martin

To let you know I have the service manager for Belmont living next door to me but that has not cut any mustard with trying to get some cashers on the go. I have asked Colin via one of his colleagues about fitting a full Miltek system + removing the pre cat but he didn't seem up for it. (if you know him well I would really appreciate if you could have a word)
Failing that I think you mentioned on another thread that there is a guy in Inverurie. If it was you do you know the name of the garage?

Thanks for ant assistance
Craig

I've spoken to Colin and he has ZERO interest in doing exhaust swaps on vx's. He's tried a couple and it was a nightmare. His correct reponse was F**K OFF not interested.

The hardest part I found was getting the old bloody exhaust out! A VSE was easy to put back in as it's so small. Precat was an absolute c*nt to do... after one hour we were pissed off that we started it haha!! So beware about getting a £/hour basis for doing it!! The problem with using Belmont is having to deal with the service desk etc. Bunch of chocolates. By the way Martin, I've still got your centre caps!!!

Hi Iain

That would be me. I was asking a fellow member about who could fit what etc in Aberdeen and by the sound of things theres not much option up here.
But it looks like I'll get a good price for my first born! so I thought I might invest on a trip down to TMS.

The only issue is getting down as I really don't fancy the drive. I have even been asking around about the price of a transporter company but the price is about £600 return. I've heard its worth while going downto TMS, what do you think?

Yeah definately worth it but an absolute nightmare of a drive though! If I drive down there it'll be for a stage 2 or 3 as I don't think it would be worth the drive otherwise. Have you tried MH engineering out at Inverurie? Another member said that they might be able to help.

Craig, Falkland performance in Glenrothes can do you a nice superchips remap which isn't disimilar to the TMS maps (they are based on superchips maps) My NA is running an ITG induction kit, piper backbox and superchip so is *almost* a Stage 2+ ........all im needing is a sports cat but i'm not convinced it's worth the money yet. Welcome to come and have a shot if you meet me somewhere kinda halfway :D (oh not that it's any closer but i'll be in Inverness tue / wed / thu next week too) thumbsup

Although its really tempting to go down to tms, the drive can't help but put you off. I'll try this place tomorrow

Do you know if they would be up for fitting the full Miltek? I'll try them anyway tomorrow. I an just desperate for a bit more grunt and for the car to sound as good as it looks.

Thanks for your help

If you speak to Kevin then i'm sure he's love to help - they do quite a bit of work on local elises / exiges too. Oh and I'd listen to other exhausts before plumping for the Miltek - it sounds nicer than standard but Caleebra's VSE and my Piper sound are MUCH MUCH nicer IMHO. thumbsup Big loud exhausts may not be grown up or clever but they are bloody good fun

Iain

I spoke to the guy before your mail came in, however when I mentioned fitting mine he was clearly not interested (something about them being a total pig to fit!)
