If you speak to Kevin then i'm sure he's love to help - they do quite a bit of work on local elises / exiges too.

Oh and I'd listen to other exhausts before plumping for the Miltek - it sounds nicer than standard but Caleebra's VSE and my Piper sound are MUCH MUCH nicer IMHO. thumbsup

I think mine has just broken in, sounds louder than ever  "Eh? What was that you were saying??"

Streako you could also chat to Mark Henderson (MH Engineering) out at Inverurie. He has set up the geometry on loads of VXs (including mine and two4oneuk's) and does work on Elises, Caterhams, race cars and all sorts. http://www.mhengineering.co.uk/ for contact details.

I've spoke with Mark but at this point he's never fitted an exhaust to a vx. He did however say that he would be prepared to fit it.

During my snooping I've found out that AW Autotech have done work for a number of years on vx's, any of you chaps heard either way go or bad reports. The lad Kevin from Falklands down at Glenrothes punted his name on

Give me a shout sometime min and we can rendez vous. You fancy coming on a road run, there is one being discussed in the Meets section thumbsup

I might have been doing it wrong but I remember the scariest thing when changing exhaust was getting the old one out and bending the bottom of the clam to make the room... *wince*

You boys should take up Martin's offer, I could help then we can see if he will get his Firenza dirty afterwards :D

We also need to get you aberdeen lads along to a meet soon as well! There's a pistonheads run starting in INverness on the 28th April and Craig (Astranomical) is tryign to set up a spring meet - we could always meet in sunny dunny as per last time? (Craig my piper was on the car when i got it, but after hearign everything from VSE, Miltek, Std and custom jobs i've yet to hear a nicer noise from an NA)

You've convinced me, Piper has been ordered and should be here for Tuesday. The car is going in to AW Autotech for fittment, some fresh oil and a wee tune up!

Fingers crossed that the guy does a good job (I'll leave feed back to the Aberdeen boys)

I'm up for a meet, just let me know where and when

Cheers

Iain

The car is booked in for Monday so I'll feed back on the Tuesday. AW are on St Perters Street (thats the cobbled road next to the bus depot on King Street, I think its been blocked off at the King Street end)
The man in charge is an Alan Wallace (no involvement with Wallace Performance pphhheeewww)

I'll give you a shout when its done. I've been told by the owner that he has done a few and he did seem to know the time involved so fingers crossed. There's no mention of the clam having to come off, just plenty of bleeding knuckles

Most of the time is probably getting the old one off, siezed bolts and persuading it out of the car without breaking fibreglass (it's amazing how bendy it is though!!). Are you going for a full system or just cat-back? Have you considered removing the pre-cat?

Well Ian, exhaust on, oil changed and superchip installed. The car feels better, smoother and I'm convinced a bit quicker (maybe its just the noise). I installed the viper induction kit on Saturday myself.
The best news is the car had no mucky paw prints on it, no dents, scrapes and it had less than 1 mile added on the clock when I dropped it off, so hopefully no mad mechanics thrashing the tits of it. The total cost for all the work was £420 so happy enough and I will probably use him again. I asked the guy a few questions about the vx and he answered correctly so I'm fairly sure he has done work on them before.
Now I need to get the car on a dyno to see whats what and convince myself I havent been ripped off!

Hi,

Just thoght i'd say hi as im from Aberdeen aswell. i'v just purchased a black stage 3 vxt, so hopefully going down to pick it up next weekend. I'v not seen the vxr yet, but i'll keep an eye out for it. Anyway, if you see me kicking around after next weekend, giv me wave.

also, how many vxt's are there in aberdeen, are there many guys on the forum from Aberdeen?

Cheers
Roy

Hi Roy! There's a few of us up here... getting better now after some lean years when people like captain sold their motor for something more family friendly ;)

The VXR by the way will be Iain G, he's getting about a lot lately (see below)!! :D

Unfortunately, Caleebra wasn't quite right - I didn't sell my vxt, I wrote the fecker off and replaced it with something more family friendly!

Mind you, when the new house is finished and I'm no paying two mortgages :beat: I'll hopefully be able to look at getting another "interesting" car...

Roy, You don't work at Hill of Rubislaw do you? I walked past a very shiny black vxt today...

Mine is almost same spec - piper, pre-cat removed, ITG and superchip and it came in at 155bhp.

Quite a few of the central belt gusy have tried my car and it is definately more responsive and a wee bit quicker. Wait til you get the roof off and piper gets all nice and sooty rallly
