Having read through this thread again, can we get in touch in Norths Yorks Constabulary, they may be able to find out through the family a prefferred charity for our just-giving page.

Someone could then put the link of cliosport and piston heads maybe.

If the family don't have a prefferred charity then the ambulance service gets my vote too.

This gets my vote too. And, not being insensitive, it would be good to know if there was some sort of failure with the car. :(

Very sad news Im really upset by this and I dindnt even know them, does make you think though. One of the reports says skidded on leaves, could this be down to the awful ABS? Guess we will never know what the full incident was but could it be a contributing factor? Gutted... Darren....

Very Sad News...... So much so that I felt I had to come back to this site after a considerable absence. I sold my VX220 some 12 months ago. (Really miss both the car and this site, but lost my confidence in the car after a spin, which wiped out the front end.) My thoughts are with all on this site and those involved and their families and friends. :grouphug: Adrian

Hi all. Deeply sorry for the circumstances, but just popped over from the lotus forum Seloc, to join you all in expressing our deep sorrow for the tragic loss of two young people who shared our common passion and interest, adding to the thoughts already expressed on this thread.

http://forums.seloc.....php?tid=114981

It is always difficult to make sense of something like this, but thoughts are with the respective families and friends and this community of fellow sports car enthusiasts. Deepest condolences.

Hi I'm Gareth's brother-in-law - I post on the MR2ROC site and Scoobynet as 'lordretsudo'. Gareth was my sister's husband and the girl in the car with him was a colleague from work who he was giving a lift to. Megan, my sister, has seen the many kind comments on this thread and asked me to post this thanking you all and asking that if anyone does wish to make a donation in his memory then the Great North Ambulance Service (mentioned earlier in this thread) was a charity that he and Meg regularly supported, so would be very apt. She also asked me to add that he loved his car; it brought him a lot of fun and happiness, and he was never off this site. Tom Foster

Tom, please pass on the condolences of all the members of this forum, this sad loss has touched all of us deeply, even though the majority of us never knew Gareth and only a handful had probably spoken with him via this forum. Thankyou for giving us the direction with regards to a suitable charity, I'm sure you will hear from someone on here to let you know what's happening with our fund-raising efforts. Kindest Regards Ash & Denise :grouphug:
