This is a brief note of condolence to all VX220.org members, with deepest sympathies from the owners, moderators and membership of TotalTorque.Net. Our thoughts and sincere wishes go to the families and friends bereaved of two young lives in such a tragic way. A link to the JustGiving appeal will be posted on our site this evening as it appears an appropriate and worthy cause that all of us can take comfort from funding, in the hope we never have to use its services. To those that lost their lives in this accident - Rest In Peace and Godspeed. TotalTorque.Net Admin.

:( :( Just heard this on VXRonline.co.uk (where I normally hang out now the vx220 has gone). Just a note to say how saddened I am by this. Not wishing to turn the thread around, but I have lost my brother in a similar situation 10 years ago and a good friend 2 years ago (both freak motoring accidents).... I can appreciate the sadness and grief that bears with Gareth and Laura's family, many respects to you all out there. Im not a religious person, but one thing I do know is that life goes on, and death is just another part of it. Sure Gareth has already booked his new VXR with Vauxhall at Perly Gates Dealership....... RIP to you both. :grouphug:

I've only just seen this terrible news. It hurt even more when I saw he'd thanked me for some really minor help. May their Gods take them to a better place :(

We've now passed the £250 mark on the donations page.

Well Done guys.

Would be great to hit £500 if we can?

This is so sad, my thoughts are with the family and friends of them both. Thank you to Tom for posting in this time of tradegy, does make you feel that whilst very few of us here ever met Gareth or Laura we are somehow connected by our love of the car so we all feel some loss. We'll be setting up a collection box at TMS for any donations as well. Life is short and fleeting sometimes.

I keep coming back to this thread. Every time I feel so sad, and at a loss as to what to write. I don't know that I can add anything that hasn't already been written here :( It's strange the community spirit that this site generates, purely through the fact that we own, or have owned in the past, a certain type of car... I really hope the kind words on here will bring some comfort (however small) to those that knew Gareth and Laura. It's a shocking reminder as to how short our time on this planet can be, and my heart goes out to their families. Cliff.

Very sad news . . . :( Another reminder that we should all make most of what we have. My last post was about a rattle? . . How insignificant. Rest in peace Brother.

Only just read this post, how horrific - as has been mentioned, sends a chill when you see his posts happily chatting about his car. :( Thoughts are with family and friends. C
