Vauxhall have not kept any records for the wheel nut keys. Their suggestion is that they drill them out and replace them with new ones. This can cost up to £250.

I did indeed lose my locking key, and through snippets of post in the ether of .org have been able to order new ones.

McGuard were the suppliers to Lotus for the wheel nut keys and will be able to replace any lost keys. They require:

-Proof of identity
-Proof of car ownership
-Photograph of the locking stud.
-18 Euros of 1 or 30 euros for 2 (inc postage)

I phoned them and had the advantage of speaking a little German but their English is excellent. They will respond to email but may not process quite as quickly.
My 2 keys arrived in 3 working days.

Its as easy as that.

That's better than the £28+VAT for 1 vauxhall charged me a couple of years ago.

Why dril them out i slammed a 19mm socket over mint & they came straight off, & the normal bolts were well tight so the locking ones must of been too. didnt damage the bolt either & im still using the 2 19mm sockets i bought!

Great tip James - and very good to meet you at Plans today. Now you are a star in a reasonably priced car with your courtesy car.

Its looking like I'm going to go down the Nitrons route as I am leaning that way but still need to be finally convinced, I'm about 75% there. I am going to get a ride in a car with a Stage2 to see what it is like from a local owner and also hopefully someone with Nitrons. That will either totally confuse me or settle it. Ideally I'd like both :D A Liana as your next car??
