I've finally managed to get the seats and the dashboard out of the car for them to be retrimmed tomorrow. The dashboard top is now lying in the middle of the drive whilst I frantically search the forum for any details about whether I can remove the vents and starter button before I send it off. The vents look like they are held in with three screws each that come in from the top side of the dash but I'm fecked if I can see how. Likewise, no idea how the starter button is fixed in. Anybody got any ideas? Would really like to remove them so that the coach trimmer guy can do a neat job around these areas. Cheers! chinky chinky Matt

vents come out quite easily. I took two out last week to fit speakers in there. turn the dash over and look at the back of the vents, you'll see they are clipped in in three positions. squeeze these clips towards the centre and the vent will push out exposing the screws for the mounting. Not sure about the starter button but I'd imagine it must come out somehow

The body of the starter-button slides over two plastic tangs that come from the back of the actual button. There is a push-in plastic knib that releases the switch body from the tangs and it slides off the back. You can then remove the button-bit. PM me your email and I'll send a picture. Steve

I don't know how to post a picture anymore. Can I send it to someone to post it for me?

Beauty. Thanks LY055SCO.

Couldn't see the three clips for all the crud on the vents. They're truly disgusting as was the ducting screwed to the base of the dash. Thank god I haven't opened the vents in 2 months! Must have hoovered out a kilo of assorted bugs, stones and other crap from within the dash. Filter mod, here I come!

Cheers! chinky chinky

Hi Rob,

I took some pictures of the process of removing the button and wrote a quick pdf guide. I don't know whether it's any use but it's attached to this post. Felt strangely compelled to write it after getting so much advice on this forum over the last couple of months!

Cheers chinky chinky
