well i now have the finished item and im very pleased to say its awesome! not only what it cost is great but it looks great too. i am going to post a picture up of it and show u and the moderators the finished item afterwhich i hope to recieve an apology as it bears little resemblence to the tms one. the pictur will do the talking i hope so i wont try and describe here. it cost me £90 and i am very happy with that and am going to giv it a spry tomorrow in satin black.
i want to ask the following to both u and the moderators "once u see the finished item and agree it does not hold resemblence to the tms one am i allowed to offer it to the forum members at the same price of £90 plus p+p?" i am chasing this up due to the amount of interest i have had through pms and email.
i again am not trying to make money nore trying to copy the tms difusser which i may add were my first intentions!
if i am not allowed then i presume it is for one reason, that the item is a bargain and the moderators/ tma do not want u to have such a good deal without them having a profit! i cannot see any other reason as like i have repated over and over......its a none profit item and is not a copy of tms diff..
please feel free to add any comments as i want to know where i stand.
once the above is cleared i have a new issue to resolve. my fiber glass buddy and me have talked in depth about the exige style engine cover with a hindge, and a independent boot cover with hindge. the mould will be made buy the end of july once the design is satisfactory. once it is made it will be offered in the colour of your car. i do intend to make a profit on this item to cover the initial starting costs so i ask is this allowed on here? it is an item which no one offers. i have seen various ideas but none have the ability to open independently of eachother without the need for tools or longer than 2mins of ur time. can u and the moderator team please comment on my future venture.

Just thought I'd add a comment.
If its just to cover costs of making the mould a few practice goes etc... and don't forget labour as I'm guessing although you may do it for free, bet your mate wants a couple of beers for helping especially if he doesn't have a VX. Then surely that's not profit but just covering costs, ie a non-profit making venture!!! That also means less hassle from Mr Taxman
BTW very interested in seeing the pics as need (well want) a diffuser and love the idea of the exige lid as I love the badster look but want easy access to the boot.

'RHS', your thread was deleted and you were informed because you used a picture of a TMS diffusor to promote your own.
So in answer to your first question. If you produce a diffusor, use original pictures to show it and convince the mod team that you are doing so, not for profit (which i think to be fair you have so far) then i can't see there being an issue.
I apreciate your honesty in the quote bellow:
i do intend to make a profit on this item to cover the initial starting costs so i ask is this allowed on here?
But the mod team's stance is that any mention of profit and you would need to make a contribution to the site for which there are a number of arangements. Best thing to do in this instance is to PM a mod who will contact John.
cheers

just remember this site seems to have been set up by a COMPANY called TMS
and is basically a marketing tool for TMS
remember it's about the car not TMS
Forum is funded by TMS. Is is so wrong to ask contributors to abide by the (few) rules re commercial posts??
The TMS connection is not a secret and as most of us would agree, is not simply a marketing tool for them. Buying thier products/services is not compulsory, hence the sponsored (and paid for) ad banners for other tuners.......
BTW, this subject is as old as dem dere hills............

James has made the stance of the mod team quite clear. If it's an original design it can certainly be sold here. If it's non profit then it will be added into the group buy section along with the others. If it is for profit RHS will be asked to make a contribution to the site as in the case of Tatonspeedy and then it will be added to the group buy section.
Nobody is knocking or will prevent initiative, it's what keeps the world ticking

Thanks
Nick

There speaks the voice of experiencerubbish how much does it cost to run this forum, couple of hundred a year!! if that!!

Seriously though, it will be considerably more than that. Partly because it'll be hosted somewhere with a nice high SLA, quite possibly on a dedicated server, because it's not only dealing with the forum but with important stuff like their e-mail and business websites, and partly because a forum as popular as this uses up an immense amount of bandwidth - and that ain't cheap if you want it to be fast and reliable.
I do think that the forum should be independant from TMS, but the fact is that it isn't, and it's not our decision to make - if we don't like it there are other forums we can use. But I really wouldn't go down the cost route, because I suspect the actual cost of running this forum with this level of service would surprise most people.
