if I ever bought a vx220, it would be in mandarin - the coolest color ever (on a vauxhall...) ;-)

I was originally going to go for red, but the family persuaded me to go for the original yellow. Having now seen all the VX colours in the flesh, I am so glad I listened to them! For my taste the red is a little lacklustre - not the greatest red shade. Generally the lighter colours seem to work better simply because black grills stand out better and make the car look even meaner! But, of course, this is a real subjective topic - thank God we don't all like the same! Just to prove what I mean, I've actually heard that some people think the Elise looks better than our pocket Ferraris! <splutter, laugh, cough, laugh-some-more!>

:) Come on Paul, Get that vote in for Rabiata Red, does look good with the red roof and seats, can't wait to see it in Feb. Not as good a EU Blue :) , especially now the interial panels are painted and I have a blue roof.

Chris I actually voted for EB!!! It was my first choice but my wife didn't agree. Having said that I'm very happy with the Rabiata. The metallic looks great in the sun (roll on summer) and it's one of the most uncommon of the VX colours. Paul

It has to be Rabiata red - the best pearlescent (sp?) available.

Just a Quick one,you should actual have two coulors of yellow on your list as My car se has lightning yellow, Where the standerd cars have a different shade which is not metalic like the lightning. Im pretty shure that what i have just said is correct, but dont hold me to that. Kirk

I've been thinking of the Elise/VX as they're so different from the TVR, bit unsure about the whole sill issue though, at 6'1 with a narrow garage getting in and out could be an issue!

Well Grasmere in Crewe have one as their demo, with biscuit hide. Hopefully by now they've managed to get the keys out of it :)

you can see the 2001 speedy in front of the 2002 model, from which you see just a part of the front. But you might see the difference of the two colors ?

I guess - you could say so, but you really should see the colours in natural, on the screen, you don't see exyctly the difference

more pictures on this site (yellow/yellow ;-) )

I can notice the colour difference in those photos, but neither of them is actually a Lightning SE. As far as I am aware, there is only one shade of yellow. The early yellow cars suffered pigment problems that was noticed and corrected very rapidly. My advice is DON'T buy an early yellow car, unless you prefer the washed out look.

I was under the impression that the Lightning Yellow was a specific Yellow for that edition whereas the standard yellow was a bit lighter. In fact they had a standard yellow car on display in the parts dept of the MK Crownhill dealership and it definitly wasn't as nice as the Lightning Yellows I have seen.

Hi steve,I think the difference is just that lightning yellow is a deeper metalic, where as they other is not metalic so a little bit lighter. My mate Iain has elise s2 which is lighting yellow with black alloys, very difficult to tell mine and his apart at adistance. ;)
