Good work mate. I backed of at 150mph, front end felt far to light for my liking, on the second day i bought it the other week. To be honest my N/A would get 140 - 145mph - but the VXT got there quicker. But the VX isnt about top speeds, i love it round bends, midrange power. And thats because ive come form a 167mph Integra Type R. Get a Video next time thumbsup

The price of a VXT is more affordable now than before..which means that it's available to a those individuals without the sense to appreciate that the car is not about top speed. This does include everybody who has purchased a VX/VXT in recent months..just a cetain subset. You cetainly would not have seen a post of the kind submitted by antgtv 2 or 3 years ago on this forum. Lets remember to enjoy our cars safely, especially in light of recent accidents and fatalities.

Indeed - even those who would take their car up to 150mph on UK public roads would have had the gumption to realise that posting about it wouldn't exactly end up with them being showered with praise :D

Really? Here's one fron 2/3 years ago for you:

Oh yes he is!

Twere me, on my way to give the car some stick down the A45 and i got 150mph out of it...get in there!

It wasn't even in the UK and it was my passenger who took the photo on their camera. I just love the way so many people get on the case of those who admit to going over a certain speed and jump on them with the same old argument. I am not convinced that anybody who buys a VXT never exceeds 70mph on a massive stretch of empty road.

Oh, and I love the one about the VX now being cheap enough to fall into the hands of 'bad' people? They were not even expensive when they were new? Brilliant. Amrit must be so proud of himself having bought one a bit newer than someone else :)

Agree with this guy here!!

P.S I bought my first N/A when i was 19 cost 15k then, im sure posted that i managed to get 145mph out of it. And everyone didnt jump on the bandwagon and start flaming as they do now.

I don't think anyone has or ever will stick purely to the speed limits, i know i certainly didn't buy the vx to do so but we are (hopefully) old enough and wise enough to know just when and where to 'break the law' safely (with no risk to others apart from ourselves.) That wisdom to equate a situation and act accordingly, coupled with a healthy conscience as to the safety of others, normally folds over into our social lives and helps us to interact and verbalise in a responcible and open manner too. Maybe some pathways have become obstructed and our 'fast' friend lacks the social skills to converse without provication (imho this threads original content being obviously vague and aimed to misrepresent the situation it was set in) he has only himself to blame for any assumptions aimed his way in light of this (although i believe that that was the whole point of the thread in the first place.) Congratulations Sir, for a somewhat (sorry to say 'immature') job succeeding, if you put as much energy into your social skills, i'm sure you would find this forum and world a much nicer place to be. Whilst i respect your right to post pictures and threads in any way you see fit, you totally null and void that respect in the manner in which you do it. I can hear my old mothers vioce saying ''it's not what you say but the way you say it'' Just my open opinions voiced here, with nothing hidden and with no provication intended (you see how it's done?) icey.

In my short time patrolling British Motorways....I have dealt with many accidents incidents involving inappropriate use of speed. Then I assist in the aftermarth of these incidents. A vast part of my working life is spent either on the hardshoulder or standing in a live lane, you are not going to have time to stop if I am standing around the next bend dealing with a car in lanes 1 2 or 3. This type of speed is inappropriate on a British M/Way whatever the road conditions are like and whatever your driving abillities are.

Words fail me that you do this and then advertise the fact. I lie COCK comes to mind. :tt:

"first photo of my car" lets hope the last as well.

Back to make this previous statement more clear (unfortunately editing time has ran out.)

My apology is not for what i said because i say little in haste and mean/believe every word i say/said. It is for the fact of saying it in the first place.

If this is your choisen way to conduct your life, then that is up to you (and it is certainly not up to me to try to teach you otherwise .)

I do know that if one lives by the sward, then one has the higher probability of dieing by it. That again is your peroggative. I just hope and prey that no innocents get impailed upon it with you.

icey.

It wasn't even in the UK

I don't see why you're back tracking now - I can't see how that isn't in the UK, there isn't anywhere else I can think of that's within driving distance, drives on the left and has 3 lane motorways

Its a bit of a sweeping statement to say that someone who can only afford 15k is more likely to do 150mph/drive dangerously on a public highway than someone who can afford to spend 25k.

Income has nothing to do with it.

back on topic, couldnt say for def but it does look like a british motorway, however the picture where you can see the motorway doesnt show the speedo so could have been took at any speed really.

whats worse? someone doing 150+ on an empty motorway obviously putting 100% concentration into it, no one pulling out, no kids around walking, or someone on their mobile doing 40, changing CD while driving past the front of a primary school? or some old codger pulling out infront of you at 30 who didnt see you because they are 85% blind? id say there are far more accidents that happen at 40 than do at 150.. quite commical though reading peoples replies on here. lol : people moaning about prices of the VXT.. they were 27k new? thats VW golf money.. that obviously makes you some sort of superwealthy hero..

That may, or may not, be true but I don't remember seeing anyone posting a picture of themselves on their mobile doing 40, changing CD while driving past the front of a primary school. This guy's getting flamed because he didn't have the brains to stop and think that posting a picture of himself doing 150+ on a British motorway might not have been the most sensible plan in the world, at least that's where I'm coming from anyway.

I think Dave's, arguably, the only member to have a really valid opinion on the matter - seeing as how he's a trained professional in the field - and, if he says 'cock', then I'm inclined to agree.

i concur. although it'll bring on the usual troll response of "inhibiting free speech" maybe if there was a policy of locking/ deleting threads that were setting up as a boasting ground for dangerous* illegal speeding/ j turns/ other general twuntery it'd put people off starting them in the first place thumbsup

* before some fcuktard states that speeding itself isn't dangerous, you are correct, it isn't in itself. but personally, for the sake of myself and those around me, i would prefer to have a hub bolt snap/ blowout at say 30mph on an empty road rather than 150mph.

my god there are some fcuking useless wastes of space inhabiting this place nowadays thumbsdown
