The price of a VXT is more affordable now than before..which means that it's available to a those individuals without the sense to appreciate that the car is not about top speed. This does include everybody who has purchased a VX/VXT in recent months..just a cetain subset.
You cetainly would not have seen a post of the kind submitted by antgtv 2 or 3 years ago on this forum.
Lets remember to enjoy our cars safely, especially in light of recent accidents and fatalities.
Put "everybody" in that sentence is not very fair i've owned mine 6 months love it to bits. There were other cars i could have bought that were quicker/faster. But I did my research.
Probably why i bought te NA over the turbo though
Its British alright, fitted with the new SOS phones.

Jonibegood, that my friend is Britannia. driving on the left, british scenary and three lane motorways For the traffic level I would guess a few hours after sunrise. And he's shown us a picture of his speedo. I give you that the two of these are not together but he is incinuating their relation.
from what I've seen of the UK on my travels it looks a lot like the east midlands. It actually reminds me of the M1 in derbyshire between chesterfield and east midlands airport. but of course there'll be plenty of areas in the UK similar. very flat though.

Its a bit of a sweeping statement to say that someone who can only afford 15k is more likely to do 150mph/drive dangerously on a public highway than someone who can afford to spend 25k.
Income has nothing to do with it.
back on topic, couldnt say for def but it does look like a british motorway, however the picture where you can see the motorway doesnt show the speedo so could have been took at any speed really.
I haven't stated that everyone who has bought a VX at 15K is more likely to speed. I have simply stated that the VX is now available to a larger audience.... Someone who can afford to spend £25K may simply wait until the car is 3 years old before purchasing.. It's not a matter of income. It is responsibility. Yes I am sure those who bought the VX when new may have sped and driven at inappropriate speeds..perhaps even posted about it. However, the percentage of folks you'd do what then was tiny - due to the small size of the community.
What is true is that the larger audience will include a larger cross-section of the community and hence the percentage of top speed posts, or driving inappropriately on the public highway will/may increase. I am all for more people appreciating what a great little car we have - that is certainly what we all want.
However, we must still maintain a responsible attitude towards what we post - perhaps more so now than before.
I don't post often on this forum and am not one to try to score points or 'have a go' but I certainly will post when I feel strongly about something. No offence was intended at anyone.

The photograph of the motorway was taken at 07:26:43 on Sunday 27th May, the photograph of the speedo was taken 16 seconds later at 07:26:59. The photographs are sequential (i.e. there were no other shots taken between the motorway photo and the speedo photo).I would guess a few hours after sunrise. And he's shown us a picture of his speedo. I give you that the two of these are not together but he is incinuating their relation.

What are you using to view the data? Try something specialised like Exifer, scroll down to the Makernotes folder, and look at the image number field.i can see the time and dates, and the fact he was using a canon ixus (good man) but how do you know the photos were sequential?

Dont worry lads. If he is doing 150mph on a motorway regular..... he wont be bothering us for much longer.
Everyone one of us on here gives the car the beans when we can, hell thats why we have bought quick cars. However bragging about it is daft.
Woop woop
So, just so that I know, what you are saying is it is OK for you to do it but not me?

Posting pics of it on a public forum - at best very very stupid
Posting pics of it on a public forum and then trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes and deny it's on a British motorway - I'm lost for words. You knew it would get a reaction before posting it, so you deserve all you get IMO

that is why track days exist.
speed limits do not exist just to p*ss you off, there is logic behind them.
driving at 150mph on a public road makes you a moron imo. driving at 150mph on a public road then bragging about it? hard to think of a phrase that describes that but i'll try: total f*ckwit
