type116 type 116.........................

Perhaps we should have a 'private' room where we can discuss them as they do us?

Oh no...we aren't that childish are we lol

Its great ain't it. gotta see the funny side of all this. Its a shame some folk choose to bite on the nonsense windups. we should try and keep the upper ground really. doesn't matter much, meh. enjoy your cars folks, don't get caught up with people who have no friends and spend far too much time thinking about the internet, theres really more to life as most of you will appreciate. that includes most of the guys over on the dark  side too.

catchyas laters.

And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to try performing an emergency stop in a VX220 that was doing 155mph in the first place. I suspect the back end could get a bit light.
[/quote]

oh yeah incase the kids at the side of the motorway playing run out.. or that crossroads in the middle of the motorway..

If your not confident in driving the VX do some training days. Money really well spent. thumbsup

...."kids on the motorway" just yesterday I was called to a job on the M25 6 lanes in part. Kids in the central res' and playing chicken on the slip. It does happen. And it caused mayhem, we had to stop 6 lanes of traffic to investigate. It was not only was my life the cars stuck in the jam and the kids life on the line I was just waiting for the "cock" to come steaming by at 150mph and wipe us all out. I'm not exagerating it is scary out there.

Personally if I was able I would take these guys out with me for a couple of shifts..... show them what speed does on an open clear road....point out the debris that they can hit there is more than you might think. Introduce then to the BiB Firebrigade Ambo and Paremedics. Then they can make their minds up.

You may feel safe driving at these speeds but its what is left lying on road that could kill you (you may not even see what you hit that causes the puncture or if you do and swerve, well................

We get typically called to 2000 incidents every day of the year. THINK!

Sorry but I don't agree with you and the government view on speed. The independent figure for accidents involving injury that are caused by speed are just 5%.

You saw the photo of the road and saw it was totally clear of animals, children and debris. There are not even any cars.

you are entitled to your opinion i guess personally i think the view of a trained professional and the government carries more weight, and will be a lot more educated.

Looking at the photo you could quite easily argue that there is a car about 200m ahead of you on the inside lane. Given the fact that you lied about where it was taken why should we believe your statement that the road was also clear when your evidence is questionable? You also seem to be rather defensive given that you knew the kind of reaction this thread would attract.

I would be interested to know how far a car travells at 150 mph.

I would estimate that would be 600 meters a minute + thinking time (that of course would be more for you some as you some seem not to be able to think) + stopping time. Work it out if you are safe!

Well in an hour I'd reckon about 150 miles! :P

67 metres per second in fact. So given a car moving at a mere legal 30 m/s you'd be on it in a few seconds even if it was way ahead.

It's kind of like being on an unrestricted autobahn doing 80 - look in the mirrors empty road - go to overtake - oh sh!t, porker in your mirrors flashing it's lights about 1cm from your bumper! :o

to be fair though id bet someone travelling at 150 is putting ALOT more concntration into driving than someone cruising along at 90 listening to some tunes and chatting to their mate in the passenger seat..

Don't quite see what it is you are getting at? My point has been that doing 150mph on a clear stretch of road in the right conditions is not overly dangerous. I never said it was legal in this country (unlike Germany where they have roads with unrestricted sections) and I never said that 30mph is as safe as 60mph. It is all relative to everything else – like doing 50mph on a residential road would be more dangerous than 150mph on a massive straight and empty bit of three lane motorway in daylight and dry weather. I am guessing but I reckon most deaths are not on empty three lane stretches of the M5?

What I can see though by you constantly calling me a cock is that you are a typical 'copper'. I remember a time when there used to be some basic level of intelligence to get into the police but that is all gone now... you don't even have to be very tall. Is that why we get people like you doing the job?

Another guess but with the amount of times you use the word 'cock' and your stalking of me are you just a frustrated gay in the force? If so I'd just like to make it clear I am hetrosexual and could you please look elsewhere for someone to play those sorts of games with your handcuffs and trunceon.

I think you'll find that Dave has merely proved the point that you are actually coming over as a bit of a fool

The fact that he refers to your previous posts as 'cock' is rather apt as most of us would agree with that. thumbsup

Secondly, you infer to Dave as being a fairly small chap with no intelligence, he's rather the opposite I'm afraid, he's about 6'6" if not a bit more and is definitely not stupid, thick or any other remark that would validate your remark!

I'd just like to add that earlier you said the photo wasn't taken in this country, next you say you thought it was abroad, now it's on the M5 which isn't even close to Dover, Folkestone etc unless of course you got the really long ferry crossing into Plymouth? I suspect not. ;)

I think you'll find the general consensus is actually we don't mind/really care what you do as long as you don't kill anybody else in the process and that you don't give VX220 drivers a bad name through your actions.

Not much to ask thumbsup

Plus I'm glad you enjoyed the Chase 07, you'll be just as welcome in 08 thumbsup
