I think you'll find that Dave has merely proved the point that you are actually coming over as a bit of a fool

The fact that he refers to your previous posts as 'cock' is rather apt as most of us would agree with that. thumbsup

Secondly, you infer to Dave as being a fairly small chap with no intelligence, he's rather the opposite I'm afraid, he's about 6'6" if not a bit more and is definitely not stupid, thick or any other remark that would validate your remark!

So he is not thick or short? You don't mention the gay bit though? Dave, if you are gay it is fine with me – I am just not personally interesested in having sex with another man.

I'd just like to add that earlier you said the photo wasn't taken in this country, next you say you thought it was abroad, now it's on the M5 which isn't even close to Dover, Folkestone etc unless of course you got the really long ferry crossing into Plymouth? I suspect not. ;)

I said the 'M5' as an example of a motorway. I have never actually said where the photo was taken.

I think you'll find the general consensus is actually we don't mind/really care what you do as long as you don't kill anybody else in the process and that you don't give VX220 drivers a bad name through your actions.

Good to hear that is your point of view. And also the views of those who totally disagree with me, and of course those that feel the same way as me.

Plus I'm glad you enjoyed the Chase 07, you'll be just as welcome in 08 thumbsup

Thanks, I had a really good drive that day in the 'spirited group'. And although we were travelling at speeds higher than I think conditions really allowed for and in a way that many on this thread might see as dangerous I thought the quality of driving was very good. And I certainly woundn't of enjoyed it if we were all pootling around like Miss Daisy. I was the one who didn't want the stickers by the way. Look forward to the next one :)

edit

No, I did make a donation and paid... I just didn't want stickers on my car.

good you have some sence then. thats the most worthwhile thing you have said in this thread

They would have reduced your top speed with the extra drag

and why did you feel the need to brag about this in the first place

Well, i've been trying not to post and fall into this, but i've just caved in... I really think some people here are blowing this out of proportion. Granted I think posting it was over the top - and i don't think it should be encouraged, but on a clear road I don't see the issue really. I think everyone's said everything already - I see far more dangerous driving on a daily basis - try the lorry that almost squashed me into the back of another in traffic on the A14 yesterday... No fcuking 'safety' cameras or traffic police caught that, did they? I also love the idealistic idea that the government knows what its talking about and uses that information to do the best thing for everyone. I really do want to say something about that, but I think it might offend people. Dave: If you've had to stop traffic, what do you reckon is more of a danger to you and those in their cars? a) Someone travelling at 150mph manages not to notice the traffic ahead and smashes into the back of cars at full speed, without braking at all or swerving out of the way. B) A huge, over-loaded 45 ton lorry, driven by some guy who hasn't slept in 36 hours, ploughs straight into the cars in the slow lane doing 60mph because he's half asleep. Because on the A14 near me, the second one happens weekly (sometimes just shunts, sometimes deaths), and I have never heard of the first one happening - and I would - because the press would jump on it and paste it all over the front page as an example of how speed kills.

I said I wouldn't post either :P but.... do you realise that everything is built to a tolerance? The car may be able to do 160mph when it is brand new, but do you seriously think a 30+ year old steel barrier (which coincidentally is designed to be effective up to 80mph at a designated angle of incident) is up to the job if it goes a bit wrong? err no. what if you go over some debris (ie nail, shard of glass etc) and get a puncture? (or a wheel bearing etc fails?) unless you have arms like he-man i doubt you'll collect it before you hit said barrier at less than 100mph. then your nice clear road becomes oncoming traffic. all theoretical, but if it makes you think next time you hit the loud pedal at least you have no excuse about the possible implications and btw the police in germany can still arrest you for speeding even if there is no limit - it depends how safe they deem you to be - and if you have uk plates I've heard they have a lower regard for your skills all food for thought thumbsup

Not a difficult one if there is a potential for serious injury or loss of life...neither are good.

One thing I can say..... I have been surprised at the lack of injuries in some cases when arriving at bad accidents...modern cars and crumple zones indeed do help save lives.

Lets hope the VX does as well.

probably because over here you're not prepared for driving at 130+ whereas over there its just normal

Very true. I think probably my view of road safety is skewed by my A14 commute, which is notorious for the massive amount of lorries. If I was on the M5 I'd probably have a different view of 150mph VX220's ;)

what if you go over some debris (ie nail, shard of glass etc) and get a puncture?

I friend hit a bit of delaminated tyre at 80 in an MR2. It ripped off his front splitter + arch liner and chucked his car halfway into the next lane. So yeah, at 150 in a VX220 you're going to be in a world of pain - and I wouldn't personally go that fast.
Still, I'm sure angtv knows the dangers. As long as he drives at times/places where he won't take anyone with him if he crashes I couldn't care less.

antgtv, if I were you I'd take those photos down. I can't find a link at the moment but go and read up about a guy on PH and the Civic Type-R forum called 10 Pence Short (Dan). He is currently serving prison time after an accident on a run where a biker was badly injured, but more importantly to you, as far as I'm aware the police trawled the CTR forum, in particular, and used posts he made as evidence against him.

I remeber reading that: http://www.pistonhea...23&t=377548&i=0

This thread wouldn't look the best if you (antgtv) were to have an accident whatever the rights and wrongs of doing that speed on the public road.

Personally if I was able I would take these guys out with me for a couple of shifts.....

Is that an offer then Dave - I'd love to see what you guys get up to :) *
Must make for an interesting, varied and presumably dangerous shift, do you have to do any specific training courses first?

Have you witnessed many accidents? The amount of nutters that slam their brakes on when they see the reflective coating on the back of the HA vehicles is astonishing!

*I'm a tad squeemish when it comes to blood tho, so I'd have to stay in the back if you got called to an accident

Ant I think it's fair to say (although I should never assume ) that everyone on this forum (myself included) has on occasion probably broken the occasional speed limit to some extent. It's not big and it's not clever, we know we shouldn't have done it but we went ahead and did it anyway. It doesn't matter what the circumstances, date, time, location or duration of this particular incident were, Bottom line, 150mph on any British road is a little bit naughty. To then advertise the fact on an open forum is (in my humble opinion) a little ill advised. As has been previously posted, It would be relatively easy for the authorities to identify who and whereabouts in the UK you are and whilst it may be difficult to prove how, when, and where this alleged incident occured, if indeed it ever did. You are drawing attention to yourself and leaving yourself open to potential future investigation. Anyone can press their right foot down on a pedal! I've never met you, I don't know what your driving abilities are mate and I'm not going to lecture you on reaction times, mechanical defects, etc. (I think thats all pretty much been covered in the past 7 pages) However you couldn't possibly have known what potential hazards lay ahead of you on that stretch of road regardless of however much of a driving God you may or may not be and generally speaking, in my experience, relying on divine intervention/the force or whatever else, whilst on UK motorways tends not to work. Remember it's not necessarily you that is going to be at fault, (although at that speed you'd need a pretty convincing argument in court.) There are plenty of idiots on and around the roads these days. Please save it for the track!! No one wants to have to go and tell Mam and Dad or Mrs Ant and Kids that their loved one isn't coming back anymore. I've done it on numerous occasions at it's not pleasant to say the least. Lets put this one down to a momentary lapse in judgement that you've got away with and move on. Whilst I don't expect you to take any notice of this, I just thought I'd give my 2p's worth anyway. Take care All the best Al.C
