Winstar - Do you want to do another group buy?
The reason I ask is Spitfire Engineering just e-mailed me offering to do a similar thing but with the bolts plated. The plating is done per batch and as they get a lot of stuff done, including the tie rod kit brackets and bolts a whole load of extra bolts chucked in the plating tank won't make any difference. Shall I get a price?
Er no not after the hassel the last one was.
PS, the real problem is not so much in the bolts themselves but in the camber shims and the ABS bracket.
You have two coarse lumps of iron which are bolted together sandwiching shims which could be better finished and have a larger surface area. I'm having a set of stainless modified camber shims made up to go with my aluminium hub carriers (eventually) and aluminium steering arm mount (sooner)
Coincidently I've just been on a bolted joints course by Bolt science and yes the most likly cause is that each of the intefaces, esspecially rough ones like a cast surface, effectivly causes a loss in the camp force applied by the torque.
