When Gareth started to get mentioned in it I just thought it was unfair and I asked Nick H and Turbo Tomato to delete it. At this point the images had been long removed. I don't think it was an unreasonable ask? Didn't even get a reply.

Right, I have just been back and had another quick look at the original thread. As far as I can see (and I'm willing to be corrected on this) there were no references to Gareth on the original thread and I had the same thought when you sent us mods the pm. Maybe I'm missing something.

Deleting of the thread was discussed by us mods and we agreed it shouldn't be removed (this was before the Sun story broke). NickH had said he would pm you to say this, hence why I didn't, but maybe he forgot, I'm sure the man himself can shed some more light on this.

IMO removing a thread is a last resort and should not be used to rescue people who have dug a hole for themselves. It's not a difficult concept to grasp - it is a public forum, so you need to engage brain before posting. We mods are not here to pick up the pieces every time someone posts something idiotic.

You will find at least 2 threads in 'off topic chat' clearly marked for your attention, after you sent me the request, telling you to clear your inbox as I could not send you the reply to tell you our decision.
