people are not backing him up, what he did was clearly wrong and breaking the law, and there is punishment for that.

what im saying is that the VX220 Owners now have unwanted publicity, now have a watchful eye upon us. and i personally think it is a bit harsh if someone actually went out of there way to report this guy.

he should have done some trackdays instead, would have been cheaper in long run with the fine he is most likely to face.

doubt he will get a fine, theres no evidence really

and i know in the eyes of insurance companies digital photos are worthless as they can be edited.. has to be on a proper camera. thats what they told me anyway. so im guessing same applies for police.

all of this aside, it wouldnt suprise me if this site is regularly monitored by the fuzz so setting up a members only subscription paid forum could stop people from dropping themselves in it again e.g. cat removals etc.....

ffs, stop backing this tw@t up, it's making us look like a bunch of idiots who think it's cool to travel at those speeds on public roads. We all know that there are individuals on here, but "Joe Public" right now is seeing us as a collective group and the impression they have will be of the collective group. Lets try to make sure we give them the right impression, shall we?

I don't think anyone is saying 150mph isn't a bit stupid on the highway (However whether its more dangerous than 50mph through residential areas, which I see every day, is definitely contentious).

What people aren't liking is that someone decided to grass angtv up. Its vindictive, not even remotely clever, and it destroys the community we have here when people are scared of asking questions because of possible repurcussions. There are plenty of things that are done for good reason, don't hurt anyone, but are illegal nonetheless. Think of the people that remove their cats, use small numberplates, have HIDs ... Someone could trawl through the archives and do a cheap article on 'illegal VX220 mods shocker'. I'm sure they'd get a good £50 for doing it, and f**k up 100 forum members in the process - but that doesn't matter, they were all just criminal scum breaking the law, right?

What are The Sun on, what a bunch of nobbers, how is the video news worthy. Just shows who they cater for with their sleaze gossip and sensationalism I despise them and what they stand for.

To be candid about it all, if you are stupid enough to post pictures up on a public forum of yourself speeding on a public road, regardless of the conditions of the road etc, then quite frankly you deserve the book thrown at you. It was clear from the original thread of antgtv's that the majority of members thought he was an idiot for doing it. PS - Had to update my avatar!!! :P

So we all have to pay for one member who was a little reckless with their posting?

No you have to pay for the member who went to the sun. Even then, people who want a story will just pay, etc.

I think the idea is just dont do it! This forum is on lockdown now!

Indeed, Clear road or not, imagine a blow out @ 150mph. We just lost one member of the forum in a crash, we dont really want to hear of anybody else dying in a VX220 do we.

He deserves what he gets, if you want to do that sort of speed then attend a track day where things are slightly safer than the open road.

Why are people so insistent that it was a member from here that went to the Sun. ANYONE can read this forum. Simply put it could have been any member of Joe Public. I think I am right in saying that the Police have a special division that specifically monitor many of the internet forums. They are not interested in small numberplates or people drilling out their pre-cat. But if someone is silly enough to go around boasting of doing 150mph on a public road then fair enough.

Reading through the previous post in 'first photo of my car' I feel that someone on here has bubbled him up to The Sun. I cannot for one minute believe The Sun trawls through web based forums like this and I know for a fact the fuzz cannot even deal with the child porn offences on the internet from 8 years ago let alone what is going on today. This is an inside job by some numpty on this site. Yes if the bloke did drive at that speed he has broken the law, yes he does sound like a jack the lad but being a judas over an incident that neither hurt or harmed anyone is wrong in my opinion. A PM to him may have sufficed to get the police and tabloid newspapers involved is wrong and sums up the mentality of sections of ourt community.

:9mm: Idiot for doing it in the first place and bragging about it secondly :( Not sure about my thoughts on the community and forum at the moment IF some-one has reported another member of the forum to The Sun / The Police Just seems wrong on both accounts

Oh so thats what the police are doing when there are murders, rapes, missing people, stabbings, drugs.

Justifies everything!

so its only an issue if somebody gets killed first? personally i think thats a tragic arguement - surely preventative action is better than reactive...
