What people aren't liking is that someone decided to grass angtv up. Its vindictive, not even remotely clever, and it destroys the community we have here when people are scared of asking questions because of possible repurcussions. There are plenty of things that are done for good reason, don't hurt anyone, but are illegal nonetheless. Think of the people that remove their cats, use small numberplates, have HIDs ... Someone could trawl through the archives and do a cheap article on 'illegal VX220 mods shocker'. I'm sure they'd get a good £50 for doing it, and f**k up 100 forum members in the process - but that doesn't matter, they were all just criminal scum breaking the law, right?

My sentiments entirely!

Even though posting pics up is a dull thing to do - it's his own fault blah, blah, blah!! - it is quite worrying that someone actually reported him [make that very worrying] It's quite sickening to think that there is a 'dudley do gooder' on here that would go through such legnths.

I mean where does it stop?

Will this person[s] with a grudge go around blabbing about everything that this site does?

I for one will/would not organise anymore car runs/meets - nor would i post up routes! I also think it would be wise for others who do so - to do it all via PM thumbsup

It could be the end for L2B and the Chase due to an influx of sneaky Paparrazi and Plod!

Will this be the drivers view from future VX run windows
Posted Image

Lets hope not. :P

I think getting the Rags involved was the wrong thing to do - Police yes [maybe] - newspapers No.

I also find it amazing that they searched Ants previous post to find his mobile number  I've been on here for years and still can't work the fcuking search function!!

And where did they get that picture from???

I honestly thought it was streetboy after letting himself go abit - you know one to many pints and porkpie :D

Also is Ant Amish?

Same here, I thought we were all supposed to be friends if he grassed himself well ok thats his problem but if someone else grassed him then thats a real shame.

Condone or condemn what his done, Ive seen lots on here about people upgrading performance, stage 2 this big brakes that, you cant tell me thats all so you can got to 70mph and only use more on tracks because I simply dont believe that.

If a remap was offered that only allowed a 70mph limit no one would buy it would they, even if it was selectable for track days. Also as said above what about the ABS mod that could be seen as an illegal mod too.

Weve all had our bit of fun from time to time but antgv has taken the whipping for it and we are all hanging him out to dry, stupid it may have been to post it up but the more we argue about it the worse it makes us look.

I for one dont feel that secure that if I do something stupid that I may get grassed up (If thats what happened), take the micky and tell me Ive done something wrong fine.

Cheese....

I wouldn't jump to such conclusions. It's entirely possible that it ended up in someone's inbox at the Sun via a forwarded email - quite often if I see something entertaining on the site, I'll cut and paste the url and foward it on to a few mates, and then who knows where it goes from there.... (although I didn't in this case  )

If you post something in the public domain then you have to think about the consequences, no matter what it is.

Just read the Pistonheads cover of the story. Its a bit disheartening.......

Now if I lose the back end a little will I be putting myself in the hands of law if I tell you lads about it? Or talking about how much fun we had on a meet only to be misunderstood as gathering to break the law.

Seems this thread and the bragging thread in question as put a dark cloud over us. Somehow I dont feel as good about the car as I had be lately.

I think you guys are blowing the police reaction up a bit. I hardly think they are now going to divert resource to vx220.org all over the country. They also can't look over every single car forum out there, there's too many and vx220.org is in general a tame forum where posts like ant's are a rarity hence the reaction. They'd soon be bored reading about tyre pressures seat retrimming and a long throttle bodies thread :D  It will all soon blow over. antgtv however deserves all he gets for being a complete plank. :poke:  PS did I tell you guys I was quoted in the Sun today   :jump:

Looking at the number of guests, we should protect the pages, and charge to read them!!! It would make a nice 'open bar' at the National or something!!!

i cant help but feel sorry for the guy, but has it been proved he was grassed up? the worst reading is the pistonheads story, saying It is not known whether The Sun discovered the posting themselves or if they received a tip off – possibly from within the forum itself. Which really doesnt give this forum a good name
