Oh and another thing, should we agree on a set of "allowed" assists? Someone who uses TCS and STM for instance can run a lot more power than someone without. On the other hand manual V auto doesnt seem to make a huge difference, in fact I think manual actually gives the user a slight edge? Unless of course you join a race where someone has enforced manual gears, and you dont know, and spend half the first lap in first gear  Any thoughts anyone?

I normally race with STM off, but ABS and TCS on.

Have to agree.

Need to set races by class...does anyone know if you can own mutliple versions of the same car with different tuning...say a VX tuned to the top of class B, another one tuned to class A etc.

I *think* the VX starts off mid 'B' class IIRC

Anyone know about the multiple same car different tune? Is it possible? I haven't got enough credits to try it!!!

You can indeed, but from what I have seen cars tuned to U999 are about undriveable. Might I suggest we set the ceiling to top of "A" class?

Yeah, "A" class max would be good, "S" class VX's are normally undrivable and would only hold others up.

I also think we should have 'full damage on'' racing, just to stop those first corner rammers that tend to fcuk up everyone else :9mm:

Assist don't bother me either way, i tend not to use ABS is takes seconds of your lap times thumbsup

Talking of laps - how many laps are you guys planning? 15-20? - because i think 3laps is hardly worth the effort in league matches.

I reckon between 5 and 10 is more like it, depends on the track of course. Striking a balance between too short to be strategic, and so long we have to take p!ss breaks, is what's important

As there are sooo many people wanting in... how about we run a timetrial format? ie Car and Track gets set on Sunday Evenings, you then have a week to post a time. Photo proof as necessary etc. Then have the same scoring method and table.

That's a good idea, although a shoulder to shoulder tussle with some of you guys is half the fun too. Time trials are a bit GT4... Could do both.

Why time trial when the online component works so well? The whole point of a league is to race one another, I for one am fast when I have the track to myself but it all falls apart when I have to fight for the lead. Thats what makes it interesting, rather than a simple race against the clock. Time trialing is also a bit dull when the alternative is racing together with a bunch of chaps all taking the p!ss out of each other.

Totally thumbsup

The list isn't really that long yet, and there won't be everyone on every night (I don't think I can make the first race on Friday.)

..where is Crimson Killa anyway with the "offical" line?

Fair enough.. only a suggestion.... :(

CK is away still, he's taking the long route back from Le Mans.

Just on past experience, the whole "lets race at *pm on friday night" doesn't always work, so hence giving people a week to complete a time slot etc.

Whatever happens, I'll be taking part hopefully.

now ive got the hang of it and a half decent/diverse grarage im in for online racing :) tend to run auto + abs, but can sack off ABS if nessecary Is it possible to have a dull time trials listing + the actual proper racing... could make it a more continuous "fun" thing. But for the time trial league you must also compete in an online race atleast once every 2 weeks or something like that otherwise some people might sit there and spank the time trials never racing properly.

Looking at the amount of 'drivers' we have i think it will be impossible to all race at the same time anyway.

Im with Lloydy - time trial is abit pointless, im doing the ring in the late 7mins on my own, lucky to break the 8min when racing!!

We should be looking more towards group leagues instead - ie if you want to just race group 'S' then you can - but then your not eligible to race group 'B' etc.

Doing so would make car set ups more crucial and the whole experience more fun thumbsup

The thing about Time Trials is, to make it fair we would need to specify a single stock model to do each time with, otherwise it will become an arms race over who can build the fastest motor. Unless thats what you want to do. :) The game already includes a time trial mode of course, in the arcade section. All the times are stored, and you can view yourself in relation to people on your friends list giving you far more efficient feedback than we could organise here, with phone cam pics of your telly etc.... just saying. Am I the only one who is rating myself against everyone elses times after every race anyway?
