Is this game any good? You're all making me want to buy a 360! My idea of a good driving game would be the original Gran Turismo (cars actually felt like they were on the road) or TOCCA. I've played Forza on the standard xbox and didn't enjoy it - is this as good as it sounds?

I bought an XBox (my first console) for Test Drive Unlimited so can't compare Forza2 to any other serious racing sim, but as far as I'm concerned, yes, it is that good.

It's a cracking game, probably my favourite game on the 360 atm. Good fun.

It's pretty good. I think that the Gran Turismo series offer slightly more realism in terms of handling although it is a very close call between the two. Weight transfer in Forza is a bit ropey. This is a far better all round game though with more longevity and general playability IMO, without being at all 'arcadey'. Plus the graphics and sound are way better. I've not yet played a console game that handles like a true PC sim though - e.g. you can come off the brakes instantly in Forza/GT whilst turning in without any drama.

edit: that sounded negative. It's fookin excellent!

meh. I did about three tracks last night and chopped 10 seconds off my time. Seem to getting into the low hundreds for the ones I try now on the second or third lap. When I can be arsed I'll experiment with a bit of tuning and actually try to set a good lap on the ring rather than my first 'get it done' attempt.

:P ;)

Yup

Top 5000 places all cleared off t'other day I heard it was 'considered' the best option as some of the times were due to people getting lucky with glitches in the game the king cobra for one, and using this to set a top time,

Means people entering rooms for online racing are also without rank for a few days as well.

But good thing is the times set will be more relative to all others more level playing field now,

If you look to the left when composing your new post, you can see a selection of smileys. Unfortunately there isn't a "yawn" smiley but there is a "sleeping" smiley.

Here it is:
