Brought my car to Lotus Amsterdam on the 4th of June to get a few mods:

1. Badster coupe part
2. Roof scoop that will fit on the coupe part
3. Get the car painted in "Aspen white"
4. the Moto-concept rear spoiler ( http://www.moto-conc...p?item_id=16057 )
5. extra meters (oil-pressure, oil-temp and voltmeter)in the radio slot
6. get the car on a small diet (no radio, speakers, we also took out the plastic parts behind the seats where the speakers used to be in and the part below that, etc, etc) Total of 20 kg
7. a new window (from the Lotus, so the outside will be black)
8. give the coupe part some extra touches (Jan came up with a great design)

It was going to take about three weeks, but it all took a little bit longer..... Jan (from Lotus Amsterdam) kept on going with extra ideas and ideas to get a better result in the end  Imnotworthy
Like when he made the holes in the coupe part, the part started to hang so he had to fix that; when he took out the normal engine-cover he had to remove the sides where it used to rest in..... The roofscoop was designed by him too, really amazing to see this guy and his partners work!! So it took a little longer than expected but the end result will show it was really worth it.At this moment the car is at the paintshop and should be ready by the end of this week.

Imnotworthy That's going to look amazing mate B) I take it the 'hump' on the roof is for show  or will it channel air under the coupe hood when finished  Where did you get the air filter from if you don't mind me asking, and what tyres are they - Toyos? :)

No, no show.... It was made to fit the coupe part and get some air in there, and maybe for the future if I will fit a turbo-engine or a compressor, that will boost the bhp :tt:
The holes in the front (where the foglights used to live) will give cooling to the front brakes

The air filter is a reverie one, I bought it from the same company: http://www.lotuscars.nl/
The tyres are the Yokohama 039, the intermediate semi-slick, great tyres in rain and on the track thumbsup

Cheers mate - I've noticed a couple of Elises at work with those tyres on - but I've always been following them so no chance to see what they were

Thought I recognised the filter housing - I was speaking to Reverie a few weeks ago about them designing / manufacturing a full induction system for the NA - I like the fact that they use cotton gauze filters instead of foam (like the ITG) but I haven't heard back from them - must give them a :poke:

How are you going to finish the coupe hood - are you going to put 'flaps' over the holes, or perspex windows in or leave it how it is (I imagine that it could cause some drag if left as it is at the moment  )

Do you plan to use something like this for the brake cooling:

Posted Image

Are you going to put a set of harnesses in

Reverie already has this set, send Jan an email for info..... jan_van_der_kooi@planet.nl

The coupe hood will be finished as the Exige-back, don't know the English word for that material

Harnesses were already in there, that's a great mod by the way! (if you click on the link below the guy with the ears you can see at the bottom of that page how it was before it went to the "makeover")

And finally, yes something like that will be used for the cooling...

The coupe part comes from the Badster, just do a search... The design as shown here is from Lotus Amsterdam, because I didn't want the closed version as others have done... I think it's around 500 euro, almost ready to paint. The softtop shouldn't be a problem because the original fittings are still there... But I wonder if I will ever fit it again because the hardtop with the scoop looks so much better B)

I hope to have some new pictures today or saturday, but I am not so sure anymore.... That scoop is going to do a great job when I fit a new Turbo-engine with 300hp in January, that will give some extra power. I want to place the intercooler the same way as Lotus does in the Exige with the superchargers..... :jump: Hope to post pictures soon...

Ohhh that is special! thumbsup thumbsup Are you putting a intercooler under the rear lid? Would you have any idea of the cost of the scoop and rear lid work?

Surely a top-mount intercooler on a turbo system is going to be fine on track or on fast-moving roads, but sitting in traffic or slow driving is going to cause massive heat-soak (a la Impreza)? How are you going to get around this? Car's looking thumbsup by the way.

Where did you get the "5. extra meters (oil-pressure, oil-temp and voltmeter)in the radio slot" from? Will it fit in the radio slot as is or do you have to modify the slot in any way? Quite keen on using that space for something else since the radio is useless anyway at speeds above 25 mph. But still I'd like to be able to get the car back in original setup at some point.

Got it from Motoconcept, they also provided the sensor for the meters... They seem to be special so it's better to buy the whole set from them....

Today I had to visit the paintshop again and it's was going to be done in the base layer today, make that ready on monday for the paint and than the white paint finally on tuesday. That would mean that Lotus Amsterdam will get the car and painted parts back on wednesday or thursday :jump: :jump: :jump:
Some pictures of today, with the roof and coupepart getting their final touches....

The scoop was a lot of work to make, but Lotus Amsterdam has got them now so don't know what the price will be. But they will sell them! But making it like it is now with all polishing took over 3 days so that's quit expensive.

The rear lid work wasn't that much, same here: Lotus Amsterdam has the stuff ready so if you want it they can easily make it for you, the most work has been done on my car, the development. Now they can do it for others quite easily B)

Send Jan an email for the prices and info: jan_van_der_kooi@planet.nl

Well have to find out, but already have the turbo-ears fitted and that's why we adjusted the lid so more cooling will be possible for the engine. If it works thumbsup if not, no problem... Will still have a great looking car, but it would be great if that would work out. Seems to work on the Toyota engines in the Exige, so will give it a try...
