I think the offer made by Thorney, is an excellent one Imran, A chance to prove the provenance of your car. If you don't take him up on it, then, IMHO, you are definately trying to hide something. Most enthusiasts wouldn't baulk at buying a car with a 'history' providing the seller is upfront about it, and the car is priced accordingly. Only bottom feeding, scum sucking, pond dwelling low-lifes try to rip off people by hiding, or even lying about a cars past (I know I worked for a main dealer that used to try and do this, and I left after six months on principle, in total I spent over 10 years in the trade; and most traders are decent people). Seeing as the word is most definately out about VXR no.16, I think you're going to have problems selling it at the advertised price. I'd like to take my hat of the the vx220 mods, and the regular forum members. I thought our TVR community was tight knit, but you folks really are a family. PS Imran, I've still got the ropes

There is no way in hell im reading this whole thread, I've only just seen it! I have bought damaged cars before that have still had private plates on but they were actually transfered months before, whilst the car was still in the salvage yard, they just weren't removed. Happens all the time so the fact that the car had different plates on it when you bought it means nothing. You bought the car home fron the salvage company took the photos of it (or took them at the yard - whatever), rebuilt it, then got a new V5 which would have had a different reg as the old one was sold whilst at the salvage yard. Besides, you often have to send off for the V5 when you buy a damaged car. You may not have done this and been issued with a reg until 6 months ago when you finished building the car. This proves nothing. I bet I could tell if the car had been damaged or not. No rebuild is absolutely perfect.....not even mine!! (Although they are close)
