Whatever the position now, there is sufficient 'evidence' here to dissuade any likely buyer. The attitude isn't quite right either in the responses.....at least not for me! Paul

Same phone number on a damaged repaired civic: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...9QQcmdZViewItem

Same member bought these aswell:

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=180113786792
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=280107378303
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=280107375985

Between February and August this year, the same user also bought these...

VX220 foglight:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=280135777467

VX220 brake discs:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=300091017908

VX220 passenger air vent:  Posted Image
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=280093912643

Two VX220 wheel arches:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=250096298716
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=250096298043

VX220 wheel bolts:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=280092684867

VX220 lower rear wishbone:
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=110094792439

Also in amongst the purchases were a welding kit and a spray gun Posted Image

To me, that passenger air vent purchase is the final nail. Coincidence is being stretched to the absolute limit here.

bottom line, if you want to buy a VXR, buy a known one for the proper price, and no, mine is not for sale now :D

For me personally it all sounds too much of a coincidence.

Lets look at the evidence:

VXR - debadged, de-vee'd

Seller - Somone with the same user IP address comes on this site buying several parts for a VX - windscreen / Crash Box / Rear undertray / Soft Top / Turbo rear clam. Changes username as you have forgotton password. Why not click the 'forgotton password icon'???? and get your password refreshed

Brother owns a Bodyshop that you use to access the internet at 20:00 / 23:50 / 01:19 - Even Thorney doesn't work that late!!.

Several items purchased from eBay that correspond to a VX repair:
Foglight
Brake disc
Passenger Air vent
Wheel Arches (2nr)
Wheel Bolts
Lower rear wish bone

All the above purchased during dates that, by your own admission, was during your VX ownership.

Surely if your brother was an accident repair specialist he wouldn't be buying the stuff off eBay???

For me my decision is made. I would love for you to prove that this car has a clean history and you are unaware of the repair. If you can do this then I will offer my sincere apologies. All I will say is that if you sell this car without disclosing a major repair, that you know of, this is misrepresentation and is a criminal offence!!!

Imran

Was it you I met on the London 2 Brighton run this year?

I was talking to a chap with a VXR, I think there were 2 of you with the car

What made you decide to sell? Thought you were really happy with it?

Nick thumbsup

Yes that was me, I have been very happy with the car and still am but am buying a new car so hence the sale. However, it would seem people on here are a bit adamant that my car is damaged, bottom line is if it had been i would say so, but in my ownership it hasnt been, i dont know about prior to my ownership and am interested as everyone to find out.

I'm sure "simple" things could be checked... like the "plastics" normally have a date stamp on them from production.... What about the clams etc, they have a date stamp in them too. This would show if the parts were "original". Like all the others, I too have many doubts over the "accident free" history of this car. There are just too many "coincidences" I'm afraid.

How do you explain your eBay purchases that fit so well with the damage shown on the photos?

Don't tell us that you've repaired another VX220 since February?

you have a legal responsibility to inform the new seller about the history.

If the seller then finds out it was crashed and repaired (through Insurance or not) then iirc the seller holds responsibility for it.

ie in this case selling a car worth 20k for 20k but a crashed one would only be worth 17k

holding back the repair information is misleading the buyer in to paying an extra 3k hence in a way its fraud.......

but as its hpi is clear im not sure about the legality of this holding up in court (not that it would necicarily go that far.... im rambling now so will stop)

Is that right? Don't think it is. I think on private sales it is buyer beware isn't it. I think even a dealer would be under no obligation to tell you as long as it is fit for use. (sale of goods act etc.)

I thought it was more a case of:
When questioned, you are not allowed to LIE about the history.

ie if no one asks the question, you do not have to disclose, however if a direct question is asked about the history you must answer correctly and honestly.

in response to all the very concerned members out there (of which prob a select few are actually interested in buying this car) Let me state some of the facts around the saga that has engrossed my VXR just to clear up a few things,

- My reg no is clear to see was not hidden from anyone
- If i had something to hide it would have been a good place to start
- The reg number on the car in the pics is J9VXR
- J9VXR was on my car from 10/08/2005 (i have hpi doc to prove this)
- removed from my car on 14/12/2005 (i have hpi doc to prove this)
- According to those pictures of the damaged car it was indeed J9VXR
- Todays date is 02/08/07
- What people are suggesting is that my car was repaired by me
- I have owned the car since 15/02/07 nearly six months
- that number has not been on my car since 14/12/05

Given it is possible that the car may have been in an accident beforehand, hence the reason i would like to know where the pics originate from, I am as interested as everyone else.

- If you Hpi J9VXR it still comes up as a red/black Vx turbo today
- The chassis number is 2 digits different from mine
- Its possible the pics of the crashed car are from this car and not mine
- I hpid the car when i bought it and it was clear and still is today
- My brother owns a bodyshop in Crawley called Customize Bodyworkz
- He has owned a VX turbo before hand and has repaired a few
- He repairs Salvage vehicles and does insurance work
- He has been doing this for years and yes he uses ebay to sell and buy goods.
- I do help my brother out with his work(which may seem odd to some of you but thats what brothers do at least the way i have been brought up)
- So what i use his computer
- I am to believe that all the people on here that have commented are interested in my car or just in the suspense story that has become of it.

If anyone has issues then dont buy it, i have had the car for 6 months has been lovely and will continue to be for anyone that does end up buying it.

Feel free to ask anymore questions and by the way i do like the way all the undercover work that has gone on. Wonder what other stuff you could dig up about me.

Regards

:D
