Well, certainly one of the most entertaining if not the best - it's certainly kept some of the OCD boys off the streets for a few hours  Great detective work - just like CSI Miami but without the sexy blonde. Andy
- My reg no is clear to see was not hidden from anyone
True, but wasn't really in question.
- If i had something to hide it would have been a good place to start
Yes, but an HPI check would have shown it up. Anyone not doing an HPI check on a £20k car deserves a slap.
- The reg number on the car in the pics is J9VXR
True, but not in question.
- J9VXR was on my car from 10/08/2005 (i have hpi doc to prove this)
I don't this was questioned.
- removed from my car on 14/12/2005 (i have hpi doc to prove this)
Or this.
- According to those pictures of the damaged car it was indeed J9VXR
You've only stated when the J9VXR was on the car, you haven't mentioned when you bought the registration mark.
- Todays date is 02/08/07
Correct :D
- What people are suggesting is that my car was repaired by me
There is an overwhelming preponderance of circumstantial evidence, m'lud.
- I have owned the car since 15/02/07 nearly six months
Don't think this was in question either.
- that number has not been on my car since 14/12/05
Not being questioned either.
Given it is possible that the car may have been in an accident beforehand, hence the reason i would like to know where the pics originate from, I am as interested as everyone else.
For my own peace of mind, I'd love an independent person to visit your brother's garage to verify the pics were not taken there.
- If you Hpi J9VXR it still comes up as a red/black Vx turbo today
Again, not in question.
- The chassis number is 2 digits different from mine
Do you have high quality photos to show this chassis number? From all three places (that I know of) on the car where it is shown? And does the V5 match these numbers?
- Its possible the pics of the crashed car are from this car and not mine
It is quite possible.
- I hpid the car when i bought it and it was clear and still is today
I don't think this was in question either.
- My brother owns a bodyshop in Crawley called Customize Bodyworkz
I wish him all the best with his business, this country is built on small businesses.
- He has owned a VX turbo before hand and has repaired a few
Can he supply registration numbers for us to check?
- He repairs Salvage vehicles and does insurance work
Not in question.
- He has been doing this for years and yes he uses ebay to sell and buy goods.
Not in question. Don't tell me he uses your eBay account from time to time?
- I do help my brother out with his work(which may seem odd to some of you but thats what brothers do at least the way i have been brought up)
No problem, I help my family out when I can too.
- So what i use his computer
No problem other than the fact that multiple accounts have been created from that computer, all with very similar usernames.
- I am to believe that all the people on here that have commented are interested in my car or just in the suspense story that has become of it.

I think they are all interested in the outcome of this thread. We are passionate about our cars and have a good community spirit :grouphug:

For the dumbness that has taken over mr tango alpha i wasnt replying to specific questions or saying that they were in question, i was stating facts.

- He has been doing this for years and yes he uses ebay to sell and buy goods.

Not in question. Don't tell me he uses your eBay account from time to time?

No its his account.

- According to those pictures of the damaged car it was indeed J9VXR

You've only stated when the J9VXR was on the car, you haven't mentioned when you bought the registration mark.

What are you talking about? i didnt buy any registration mark i think you must be a little confused. Maybe its all too much for you.

- The chassis number is 2 digits different from mine

Do you have high quality photos to show this chassis number? From all three places (that I know of) on the car where it is shown? And does the V5 match these numbers?

Again you seem to have lost the plot all this detective stuff must be taking its toll, how do u expect to get 3 high quality photos on the car when you do a hpi check(maybe i am missing something but last time i did a hpi you get a report without pics) The chassis number of J9VXR on a hpi check is 2 digits different from mine.

Please feel free to come down to his garage while your down here for those who are concerned you could even check the car over

My mistake, I assumed you had bought the registration and put it on the car on the date you specified (Aug 2006).

Do you have any contact details for the person you bought the car from? That would be a good step in verifying details about your car.

I was hoping you'd take some photos of the VIN plates on your car, nothing to do with getting them from an HPI check.

We could then compare the VIN plates on your car with the VIN numbers shown on an HPI check.

I'm just trying to give you the means to help verify the identity of your car.

It would seem you were too quick to respond to my earlier post looking to respond to each of my statements negatively or with the undertone of sarcasm, rather than looking into the facts that i have put there. As i have stated I bought the car on FEB 15th 2007(where did you get Aug 06 from) and the log book confirms it.
I have owned the car for 6 months not since Aug 06?? The hpi report shows that the number plate J9VXR was on my car from Aug 05 to Dec 05 and since Dec 05 to today it has been on another VX turbo also red/black and the chassis number on that one is two digits diff from mine.
Hence the point i was making is it is possible that the pics of the crashed car may not be my vehicle unless it was crashed in between Aug 05 and Dec 05.

Why do i need to verify the chassis numbers on my car to the log book its not a ringer, like i stated before i have checked the car when i bought it and it was Hpi clear and chassis details all match

So presumably J9VXR is on another VXR since the build number is two apart? TBH you/your brother buying shed loads of vx parts (which just so happen to be the exact repair list for J9VXR) is enough for me to not want to buy VXR no 16.

I thought this site had a policy of not allowing comments like this on 'for sale' threads. :) I'm surprised that imran continues to respond. Quite clearly no one will but this car at 20k now :beat:

to be honest i am as intrigued to find out if my car has been involved in a big accident hence why i reply, i have no probs with given details to anyone who wants to know about my car, the thing is though from a for sale thread this has become a CID case for everyone, is a shame really, as you say if comments like such shouldnt be on here, then why are they. answer is the moderators are too busy trying to conclude this case that they arent bothered about policy.

True,

And I guess I feel a little sorry for Imran if he has in all innocence bought a car that has been bumped.

There's just too much smoke here for there not to be fire IMO

do it snoops... we can have an exclusive SCC VXR club then :D

:D

Bit over my budget anyway - think I'd rather get a sensibly-modded VXT instead.

Plus I don't like red cars...

you like black ones?????

I think in this case it warrants further investigation - I would be rather pissed if I did buy this car and no-one said anything ! This could still end well for him yet anyway.
