You can buy rot-proof carpet. I purchased some for my Tiger which was extremely not waterproof. It also has a non-fray edge. Dave

Fitted the rear section, under seat sections, and some side pockets I got from ebay, this morning

Cheers Morgan, they look great - didn't even need any trimming :D

Very dissapointed that after 6 years there was nothing under either of the seats (thought I would have made a fortune in small change) :(

Just bought and fitted a set of morgan9122's carpets and am very pleased with them. Had to do a bit of chopping as I've kept the side pockets fitted and I wanted to fit the footwell mats over the top of my original VX ones, which meant I couldn't tuck them under the centre console bit.

I also put a bit of 2mm foam floor insulation beneath the under-the-seat bit of carpet for a bit of extra deadening.

Just fitting these carpets has done the following to the interior....quite a transformation:

Oh, whoops, wrong pic...easy to get the two mixed up now:

Haven't managed the ones behind the seats yet thanks to the complete absence of any space. Will have to take at least the passenger seat out by the sounds of it.
