all back together againto be honest the oven may not be the best solution for the fronts
there is quite a lot of metal in there
I think my head lamps have been bodged repaired I've had a couple of bits
have dropped off so re fitting could be interesting
and looking much better .

So used the Oven for the head lights
pre heated the oven to 100 put the head lamp in for 10 mins
this was enough to let me run a knife between the lens and lamp holder if I'd had a heat gun it would have been much simple to remove the previous sealant
Loads of scum in side
rubbed it down a bit first
a couple of coats and a flatten with a dry wet and dry fine paper
Then re sealed with aquaria sealant
Got them resting over night with abit of weight on them
re fix and re focus tomorrow .

oh yea, its getting lowered 25mm aswell
i am thinking about taking all mine apart again and refitting them, just to make sure there are no sealing problems,
i had NO condensation on the fronts today and normally i do when i wake up
just need that other light.
also scuba, i never sanded them down or anything
I just had to sand them I didn't have any primer.

Then re sealed with aquaria sealant
Has het back of the headlight unit melted/distorted? Seems like your light units have drooped inside the housing on the shot above (may be angle of shot), especially the dipped beam projector lense seems to be resting on/behind the plastic?
Bye, Arno.

I know
I've gone all Jack Barkley
I'll be running around in a pair of Grey overalls soon with
rag hanging out me pocket .
Wack'um in the oven get the seal soft run a knife through the seal
use a heat gun to warm any remaining seal
as the unit cools down
I may even attempt the 2.4 manifold swap with out the use of a mechanic

What did people use to bond the clear light cover back onto the light unit itself?
Is "Aquaria sealant" a strong enough adhesive to actually keep these from dropping off? Any other suggestions (preferably in the next 2 mins as I desperately need to get to a DIY shop before 6pm )
Yes it is strong enough
Mine have not dropped off
you must have a good key for the sealant to bond to
and at least 6 strong spring clamps to hold it all together whilst it drys

Scubbadaddy has had his stuck on with that stuff for a while now so it should be fine
Tiger seal/Sikaflex also seems to do the job!
