I have never ever noticed the door pockets. So if the centre console and door inserts were standard, will there be crap underneath if I remove them, or still nice shiny alu?
Leather covered door inserts and centre console is simpley the standard silver pastic part trimmed in leather. If you remove them there will be nothing underneath. You don't have two sets of door cards/centre consoles stacked up! Removing the door card leaves a big hole in the door. Removing the cenre console reveals lots of wires and cables.
The storage pack was originally and option on early NAs for door pockets a rear cargo net. Although, like I say, door pockets soon became standard but you could add the cargo net behind the seats for about £70 IIRC.
Storage pack was available throughout production, c.£110 fitted. It consisted of the cargo net (also, as mentioned, available separately for £70), plus leather sill pockets. I know because I had it fitted to my VXT (even though the car had to go back because the crafty dealer tried to get out of fitting the net )

Btw - I believe Storage Pack and Touring Pack were the only extra "Packs" available

Before you turn the patronising knob any higher you completely misunderstood my question...If you read the question I asked whether if I removed the door inserts I would get to nice shiny alu or just a manky mess - I didn't ask whether there'd be another bloody set of silver plastic cards underneath!
The part about the centre console refers to removing the leather, not the unit!
So read the question properly before you put me in the bimbo box!!
This thread is exhausting...Brochure anyone? Pleeease?!
ooo touchy
I read your post and thought the same as Jase_MK, and I'm a woman too (as well as you, not Jase_MK!). From your name it's impossible to tell if you're a man or a woman - I only knew you were a woman cos you posted a picture of yourself recently - don't take comments so seriously - he's trying to help and pitch his response at the same level as the question was posed at!!! It was very nice of him to respond by further clarifying his answer - so obviously he wasn't patronising you!

Yes I am young lady and I've been watching you.
I don't appreciate the fact that you posted a picture of me that your father took in one of our 'private' moments. Also, I never brought you up to think that all men are either sexist charmers or misogynists, and if you don't get back to your A level homework then men will think you're a bimbo and Daddy won't buy you a silly plastic car for your 18th birthday. Why you want one of those cheap cars just to prove you're an independent, assertive woman I don't know, you could have had a nice Mercedes instead.
Now off you go and do some work, I'll have dinner on the table at 6 o'clock, so don't be late
Love and hugs

What? OMG. Now who's being touchy.
Firstly: there was a string of emoticons in my post, which - ones assumes - indicates one is joking. I was having a laugh. You may not share the same sense of humour - but the many emoticons tell you I was joking, so whilst you may not find it funny, you should know I wasn't being serious.
Secondly: you both have put the feminist angle on - not me. I could equally have been a bloke protesting at being 'patronised' (although I was putting it on), and put in the 'bimbo box'. As you said - you didn't know (until I posted my photo afterwards) that I was female - so surely that tells you that it was absolutely NOTHING to do with being a woman, else I'd have made it clear in the post that I was female. That's your erroneous interpretation.
Thirdly: if you were offended Jason, why didn't you say so in your penultimate post - and I could have explained myself to you, instead of taking time out of your day to reply with additional useful information? The latter indicated to me that you didn't take any offence to anything I said. If I was p*ssed off with someone, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to be helpful to them.
Fourthly: I find it 'interesting', and really rather telling, that you Lou felt the need to stir something up that wasn't there, and have now created something that wasn't there, especially when it doesn't concern you, and especially since Jason showed no signs of being p*ssed off himself (before your post). PM me next time you have an issue with something I have said. And I don't understand why it's now that you are choosing to also have a go Jason - days later - given, as I said, you didn't protest at the time.
Fifthly: I made sure to thank you for your additional information, or perhaps you didn't see that. People only seem to pick up on the bad. If there was any bad feeling on my part (ie if I really thought you were treating me like a bimbo etc) - I wouldn't have bothered would I?
Finally: I'm saddened by your last comment Jason, but let's not over-react here. I hate that you think that, off the back of something I have said, but I WAS JOKING. I would have said to you face-to-face what I posted, but it would have been accompanied by lots of smiling, laughing, and friendly body-language. I have a big personality, and I joke around a lot, and sometimes that doesn't transpire well into black and white. I meant absolutely NO offence at all, and was merely joking around - putting it on, playing a part. It is important to me that you know that.
But - too bloody right, who wants to spend time on a forum where they're constantly having to explain themself to people who can't allow others to react in a way they might not have? Not me. Even if I did mean what I said (patronised, treated like a bimbo etc) - it's entirely my pregorative Lou to react how I wish, and to object to something that I perceive is unacceptable to me (although that didn't apply in this instance). Someone once told me very wisely that you should assume that if someone says something to you that you don't like, that generally they do not intend to be mean, and you may have misunderstood; and you should find out further information before reacting in a negative way. Wise words, and worth remembering, as are the following. As my mother says: if everyone were the same in this world, it'd be a very dull world. Perhaps next time, just assume that the other person has a different personality to you, and expressed themselves in a different way to you, before scolding them because they didn't react in the same way you would have; or if you feel the need to do the latter - find out the facts first. Be a bit more tolerant, and accepting of other people.
Really finally: surely there's more to life? It's a gorgeous day, sun is shining, is it really worth getting so agro over one stupid little post, which wasn't intended seriously anyway?

Also, apparently, some people have had a sense of humour and objectivity failure, and an inability to correctly identify the facts before whipping your ass, so it is with much regret that I bid you all a farewell. It's been a blast, and there are some truly fantastic people on this unbelievable forum . Apart from seriously useful facts, it's been enormous fun - and I thank you for that.
Thank you and goodnight.
(R1CHY - don't you dare say 'I'll never remember that madam'!!
