Noise: Loose jangly metal sound behind pax headrest, rattles at different frequencies throughout the rev range
Solution: No idea![]()
Noise: Plastiky vibration in dash at low revs
Solution: No idea![]()
The first one - has the front piece of the headrestraint snapped? It's stays in place because of the plastic coating but will move about a bit. Quite easy for a butter fingered mechanic to do (I've had 4 snapped by one mechanic in 4 months!! They're replacing one as I speak/type!) (wouldn't make a metal sound though)
Is the second one a worn bearing in the blower unit? Does it only happen with the blower on or when turning through 12 o'clock and quarter to? It is on mine!

take brake pads out, clean and re copper slip - sorts problem out nicely. i had the washer bottle out, battery half out and it was this in the end.rattle coming from front of the car, is affected by speed. goes away if i even slightly press the brake peddle (think its rattling brake pads will post when i investigate further) fingers crossed.
squeeking from rear - couldnt pin point it, only happened over crap roads near where i work
1) change jobs
2) put radio / cd on - drowned out noise
3) spray wd40 on side engine mounts when the inner arches were out - worked a treat
i had thought it was the boot hinges / locking mechanism
rattling from doors
remove easier little panels and little black oval platic thingy from side of door and put generous quantities of vaseline on all moving bits
window on passenger side letting in water when it rains really hard
1) spend ages trying to realign window
2) spend 20 secs wiping thin smearing of vaseline along top of window and where it meets the soft top seal

Yep, you get two noises, the initial one of the spring going, and then the even louder one when it hits the aluminium shellIs it brown trouser stuff when it happens?
