I just did the first ridge on the inlet only, the one well out of the way of the vane. Cant say I can tell a difference maybe a bit more popping and noise, not really had a proper go in it though. Was not confident enough to do the others, dont want to mess it up before the National.

the butterfly sits at an angle when the tb is off. If you trace a circle around the edge of the tb from a few mm before where the butterfly touches the tb shell at the shortest point and smooth to that line, you should be good. If you get me?

Its hard to put into words, but I get the impression that from the vane being horizontal(when it is on the car) to about 30 deg the opening does not change because it follows a curved profile in the bore. If the vane simply sat at horizontal it would be straight forward to just grind the whole bore venturi style leading up to to the centre.

Anyway for a laugh I have done pic too, I removed the blue bit and was tempted to remove the red bitsPosted Image

In my experience its wise to NOT mirror finish anything in the inlet route as it ruins the boundary layer of air, which can then cause issues further in the flow (like fuel dropping out of suspension.... obv once its injected lol). a "sandblasted" type finish is a preffered one as it leaves a little area for turbulance on the boundary layer and keeps everything moving nicely. mirror finished exhaust side is fine though :)

you can remove some of the red area, just keep a little further away from the butterfly swept area, plus the metal is a little thin on the lower red area :)
