In the meantime I need you to send me your 4 joints back if you haven't fitted them already as the collets are needed to be pressed onto the new joints when they arrive. Bit of a pain in the backside but nothing than 100% right will do.

Could you describe accurately what has to be returned (with pictures) joints ? collets ?
English is not my native language and i would not like to make a mistake.

Thank you

There are 4 joints surrounded by the rubber shroud, on either side of the joint will be a piece of flat metal or a larger piece of metal with a slot on it. These simply unscrew from the bar and need to be returned. No nuts/bolts/washers need to be returned and the rubber stroud can be left on the joint. The return address is: Spitfire Engineering Solutions 19 Westminster Crescent Burn Bridge Harrogate HG3 1LX Please include a slip of paper with your name and address on :)

i'm concerned if I got to send the rods back before getting the new ones, as they are currently fitted, that would immobilize the car in the garage too long (i need it to be moved often)... I will press the parts myself, if there's no problem for you can you give us the ref of the new new rods you've found ? just curious about the specs

Sam - No need to send yours back just yet, only those who haven't got them fitted yet. I'll get the details for you next time I speak to them. I know that to buy them from the UK costs about £40 per joint though:o

Yes please. Spitfire have a few colletts spare, but not enough to fit them to 30 sets ready to send out pressed out into the new joints. If you're not in a massive hurry it's not such a problem but the quicker your joints are returned the quicker you will get the new ones. I checked the ones on my car today and yes there is a bit of play so they're no good. The lining used in the joints must have been completely defective.

Muncher, Do you have a list of those who have fitted their Kits already & therfore can't return the items? Will we be sent the new joints when available or do you require notification from us? I hope we have some reasonable time to return the faulty ones. I checked mine again after my last track day & there's definitely play. Cheers MAXR

By all means pop them in the door in an envelope, I don't know if Gaz will be there as he's out of the country a lot.

I don't have a definitive list but have a rough idea. You'll have plenty of time to return them, no problem there.

Hi Paul, Just packaged up my four tie rod ends (as per your pictures) and will post them to Spitfire on Monday. A forward question when the sub frame brace bars are ready I assume that they have to be mounted in an expansion mode rather than a tension mode, i.e place a slight expanding force to the sub frame ? Yeah, they won't be swapped but it is probably best to keep it simple (as the NA collets may be pressed in).
