The revised mk2 tie rod bracket has a slot rather than a hole to allow you to choose the height of the brace bar.
There's only 1 brace bar bracket.
If you want a mk2 tie rod bracket for easier fitment of the brace bar that is an extra £20 (cost price). I already have loads of those here so if you want one, include an extra £20 and they'll go out with the brace bar.
Once i have the brace brackets on friday I'll post up some pics which will show what I'm talking about.

Everyone so far has a tie rod bracket with a semicircular tab with a hole on it for the brace bar.

Okay, all starting to make sense now. Thanks for asking the question Mr_M and thanks for the clarification Muncher.
So, in summary, £140 gets me the brace bar, the revised adjustable brackets and delivery to my door? If so, I'll sort another transfer to your account today!

Wonder if it is possible to get only the brackets and the bar if I didn't order the toe link upgrade ?
I fitted the Eliseparts toelink kit a few months ago and I wonder if it should work (obviously I can't see any reason why it should not apart from some shims I may have to add)
Possibly, but I'm not sure how effective it would be. The two brackets bolt together in the middle so when it's under load the brace bracket will spread the load across the other bracket, all 4 small bolts and the big bolt also. Best bet is to just sell the Eliseparts and do it properly:)
Yep, that's right techieboy

Has been a long, long slog to get it right but now I'm happy it's all spot on.
Brace brackets arrived today and I got some tools together and went straight down to Joe-Turbo's place. Fitted it and everything went surprisingly smoothly, if you were to pay a dealer to fit the brace bar once the toe link kit is already on I expect you'd only be looking at an hour's labour including removing and refitting the undertray.
Here's some photos. Basically you bolt the two brackets together then slide them up or down to get the height which you need to clear the exhaust. Then drill a 10mm hole through the subframe, you can use the collet in the bracket to act as a guide to get the hole level.
Then thread the main bolt through the bracket, joint and 3 internal spacers, and tighten it up with the nut on the back. Repeat the same for the other side, turn the bar to put it under a little pretension and do up the two lock nuts. You're then ready for the undertray to go back on.
As the brace brackets will sit lower than the subframe you need to put in a couple of nitrile spacers on the main undertray bolts. This stops the undertray from fouling the brackets, they also dampen down and vibrations in the rear undertray and prevent the bolts from coming undone as they will prevent the bolts from turning. They are just the right size to screw onto the bolts, they won't poke through them. The undetray goes back on perfectly, under no tension.
I haven't had a chance to fit mine to my NA but that shouldn't be a problem, clearance was always going to be much, much tougher on the turbo compared to the NA.
The pictures don't show the brackets located in their lowest position so you could still lower the bar further if need be.

Looks fantastic Paul - and thanks for the clarification on the brackets
I've just sent you a bank transfer for £140 for the bar, revised brackets & shipping) - under this new express payments system it should be with you in two hours
Just a reminder (I know how busy you've been on this) - don't forget to send my replacement ball joints etc in the package too please (early VXT - chassis no. 6058 so should be M10 bolts and associated colletts )
Thanks again for all your hard work on this one - much appreciated
Ahh, did you return your joints to Spitfire? They got one set of joints returned but they were without a name or address.

Mine went directly back to Spitfire a couple of weeks ago - special delivery so I know they got there - but there was a sheet of paper with full details in with mine so don't know if that lot were mine or not? Anyway, Spitfire definitely have them one way or another
( if you remember I just wasn't in a hurry so I said to hold off sending replacements till the bar was ready, to save you guys some postage costs).

Can you make it £35 please to cover the cost of posting the brace bracket. Although a few including you paid £325 at the start, the brace bracket is so expensive to produce that although Spitfire will do a few who stated their intent early on for £100 eatra, I need to cover the cost of posting them out as I'm sending them all out (and they need to be couriered and insured).
okydoky
will get a cheque in the post to you for £35 over the weekend
