Brace bar and new brackets received a few minutes ago. Can't believe how short the brace bar is as I'd visualised something longer. Thanks Muncher (and Spitfire). thumbsup

Edit: Should I have a second set of these:-

If so, they don't appear to be in the envelope. I've checked and double checked the jiffy bag and it's not there. The jiffy bag was a little battered but I didn't notice a hole in it. Spitfire/Muncher, can I get another replacement set, if you've got any more knocking around, please? chinky chinky

Let me know how you get on there VIX and I'll book my car in with him to fit this, the tie rods and re-geo me. Might also get him to fit a new steering rack whilst he's messing around with suspension and alignment. thumbsup

Joints and brackets received yesterday. All is well for JF and myself. Thanks Muncher and Spitfire. Where can it be bought afterwards and at what price ? I have a mate who recently bought a VXT for trackdays and will need it. Bye.

Matt,
I'm not sure what bits there should be but I have two of everything - except the bar! I am going to check with Mr_M who I guess will be getting the bar fitted by Steve G to see how he gets on. I've got to get my MoT sorted first and am going to schlep up to Courtenay next Tuesday. I'll let you know how it goes. If you need a lift back from Steve's let me know and I'll oblige if I can.

Thanks Steve. I thought that was the case. I've assembled everything on my desk and as far as I can see, that's the only thing missing. Ah, Mr_M uses them as well? Cool, at least they'll know what we're on about when booking the car in. Thanks for the offer of the lift. thumbsup

Hi Vix
When are you going to Steve G's?
I may ask him with your permission to take the car out for a spin after he has fitted the links and done the geo but before fitting the brace, and then again after so we can get some indication of the level of improvement with the brace fitted and we do expect it to be considerable, especially at high loads.
Steve is certainly the guy to task with this but I am not sure if the local raods will allow much of a consistent trial but it is worth a go :)

Hi Gaz,
Short answer is that I don't know. I hope to get the MoT sorted this week as it has failed on a couple of things. I would hope to get the car to Steve G in the next week or so and before I do a track evening at Donnington on 18 July but have not contacted him yet to discuss booking it in. I would absolutely expect Steve to take the car out for a thrash round the local roads full before and after road test and evaluation! :P
I'll let you know when I've booked it in.

Steve/Vix
PS If it helps and provided the timing fits in with my needs for the car I would be happy for Steve G to take the car on track for some more consistent trials but clearly this would have to be at your expense. thumbsup

Gents, apologies for the tardy response - work is getting in the way of the more fun things in life at the moment :beat: (Steve - I owe you an email - will try and get my finger out tonight!)

At the moment my car's sitting in the garage looking a bit like the aftermath of an explosion in a wiring factory - am fitting the eliseparts power supply (thanks for that idea Matt chinky chinky ) and a couple of decent worry guages so cabling absolutley everywhere. Assuming I can get it back together in time it's going in to Steve G's next Monday to have the brace bar & rods done (and a full geo). I'll let you know how I get on - will be tested properly at Croft at the back end of next week :D

Matt - I'm only 10 mins down the road from Steve G's - if you ever think you're going to be stuck for a lift then drop me a line. I can't promise a return service to MK, but if I'm not out of town I can usually manage to swing by and drop you at a convenient rail station chinky chinky

Could those that are missing bits please post what bits are missing here? There should be: 1x brace bar 2x end joints 2x brace brackets 2x large bolts with stack of collets 2x small nuts and bolts 4x nitrile spacers (+ additional mk2 tie rod brackets if you paid for them) I know techieboy is missing one small bolt.
