The Wii's are great, if you want to use it in HD which looks a hell of a lot better you need the component cable. Grab one off ebay for less than a tenner, dont worry about getting the official one at twice the price :)

I purchased an "official" one... have to say worth every penny. So even spending more and having it NOW, its worth it imho.

Wii play is a wise buy as tis £35 and you get another wii-mote.

Picked one up today Gamestation had them and wernt selling fast yippie I got it with: Mario Galaxy Zelda Resident Evil 4 (crainium) kabookie - kiddy game and obviously the free sports one that was £299 It was Zelda and Kabookie were predefined had to have from a selection of crap and any 2 other games (RE4 and Mario) must say i have played on my mates playing sports etc but mario is fantastic, its simple enough for kids but good honest fun for big kids too. will pick up wii play for the second controller too mind.

Its a very good game when youve got a few mates (and their other halves) round. Was playing it xmas eve round a mate house, few beers and its really really good fun.

I got a Wii for Christmas from the girlfriend :) :) Seems they came back into stock at the last minute! Need to look into the HD cable I think, as the graphics are slightly disappointing, but the gameplay is fantastic. I'm quite surprised about how accurate the 'Wiimotes' are at picking up the intriccies of your movements. It comes in handy when playing tennis etc. as you cn put a load of cheeky spin on! So far I got Tiger Woods golf and Need for Speed pro street, but will be getting resident evil as I need to relive my Half-Life playing days! Also, is it possible to play people over the internet on some games? I've got it all hooked up to the 'net and it seems that you can add 'friends' to your Miis, but can you then play them on multiplayer some how?

I use the official Nintendo component cable, it's very good quality, but remember the Wii is all about gameplay not graphics, it's no PS3/360, so don't get too excited!
Make sure your telly has a component input first, if not then a scart is probably your next best bet. (No offence intended if you already know this) thumbsup

Sorry guys - bit of a thread hijack. Now I've got a bit more time on my hands I quite fancy getting a PSwhatever or xbox but really only for driving sims (I'm crap at shoot-em-ups). Normally when we go to friends for dinner, the girls end up talking bout girlie stuff amd the boys end up getting pissed and racing round the nurburgring. What in your opinion would be the best console/ games to get All info gratefully received Happy New Year Paul
