Oblomov, I have a monitor situated in the same place as that. I could only use quite thin alu to make the mounting bracket because thicker would push the dash up and make it wonky, so it wobbles quite a lot. Does your's? If not, do you have any tips for making it more stable.

Cheers

Richard

Alone mine doesn't wobble but I've added an upright to take my satnav and that does cause a bit of a wobble but not all that much. Can't check it out in detail presently as the car is in having a front end respray. thumbsup

Finally finally FINALLY done! :groupjump: Can't believe how long that's taken to do. Turned out that the TC ecu had a bent pin on it. Not sure whether it was like that when I got it or whether I damaged it during installation, but it's now straightened out and all wheels are picking up. Just need some crap weather now to try it out. On a side note, I've got to say that Racelogic, in particular Mike Broadbent, are very helpful indeed and quick to respond to emails.

I'm pretty used to the traction control now and hardly even notice it running. I settled on the standard map with correct wheel sizes and 40 abs pulses and can run it all the time as low as 3% in the dry for normal road use without any noticable detriment to power. I have come out of junctions hard and wondered if I should reeally have made it though Imnotworthy

I was planning to take pics of the installation as I was going but didn't get round to it due to the various challenges faced! I went out in the snow/ice/wet/grit last night and it performed superbly, just as I remember from last time I used it on my old Civic Type R. I've actually changed quite a few of the settings as I spent many hours messing around with different mappings on the Civic and ended up with some that I really liked. Probably the biggest change I have made from the default settings are to the % slip settings assigned to each cut sequence. What I found odd about the default settings is that the % slip set for each cut sequence is added to the % slip selected on the adjuster. So, for example, the default slip for Cut Sequence 1 is 5%, so if you set your adjuster to 0% and the wheels start to spin, the first sequence isn't applied until 5% slip is reached (eg: 0% on the controller plus 5% on the first sequence). My feeling is that if I chose 0% slip on the controller in really poor conditions (like the snow and ice we have at the moment), I don't want the wheels to be able to spin at all. Considering those of us with the digital adjust can chose from 0% to 25% slip in 1% increments, it seems strange to only allow a lowest setting of effectively 5% slip. So...what I've found is that by setting Cut 1 at 1%, Cut 2 at 5% and Cut 3 at 10% I can go from absolutely no wheel spin allowed at all with the controller set to 0% slip, to the original version of 0% by setting the controller to 4% (say for just mildly damp conditions) and then anything beyond at settings above this. With the Civic, I also played around a lot with the cut sequences themselves which resulted in smoother operation of the TC, but can't remember off the top of my head what I did. Somewhere I have the old config files that I used saved, so I'll try and find them and see if they work as well on the VX. I also found that 35 pulses rather than 40 seems to make the TC speed match the speedo on my car and I also set the 'hard cut' setting to have the first cross set to 'fire' to try to prevent the 'safe mode' problem as I believe it only happens when there are 50 mis-fires in a row? The only problem that I'm left with is that my wheel sensors don't seem to want to all pick up until around 24kmph, which means the system has to be disabled until that point. I've got the shielding earthed now, which has stopped any spikes in values, but that's made no difference to the pick up speed. What speed do all you guys get full pick up at?

Have you got the standard cut settings? If so, and you were on 5% on the controller, then the system would have allowed a total of 10% slip before even doing the first cut sequence.

I've been driving around with the digi controller showing the Cuts graph as the first cut sequence is pretty subtle, so it's interesting to provoke the car a bit and then compare any sideways-ness to the settings I have dialed in and the level of any cuts that are made.

yeah think so..

i gues i'll be changing that!

got th dreaded limp home mode yesterday from it detecting a random misfire.. :angry2:

need that sorting when i get to courtenays next

In the mean time, try putting one spark icon at the start of the 'Hard Cut' sequence. I read somewhere on the forum that the limp home mode comes in after 50 misfires, so if you allow one fire in the hard cut sequence, it's not going to power your car off the road, but should also avoid the limp home mode. I've done this and not had any limp home issues yet.

that spark at the begining doesnt make a diff. still got the limp home mode come up when i revved it in launch control mode

funny thing is ive used launch control lots without hitting limp home mode, now it seems to hit it all the time. may reset my ECU.

courtenays can remove the misfire detection limp home mode next time im there

Ah well, worth a try. I've only tried launch control a couple of times but can't see it being something I'm likely to use much, if ever.

I don't think anyone asked did they?! ;)

The prices are available on the Racelogic website:

http://www.racelogic...g-Retail_Prices

It gets really expensive if you need some one else to fit it. Looks like most people on this thread have fitted it themselves. Essentially it's just 'connect 15 wires up', really not that difficult. It's just fiddly getting all the wiring routed around the car.

Looks like we need this written down:

From £600 to £900, depending on options.

Either hunt around for a group buy, or you can buy from TMS who are cheaper than from Racelogic direct. thumbsup

noticed a couple of misfires when going slow i.e. over a load of speedbumps so switched the setting so it doesnt work under 15kmh, it was set to 12. (14 as standard out the box) went to tesco carpark and drove it steadily increasing slowly and around 10kmh it was still getting the odd spike. currently got digi controller set at like 3% in the dry.

Mine still doesn't pick up until 25kmph for some reason, but unless I want the TC for standing starts (which I don't) then it doesn't really matter. I went out for a long drive in very heavy rain on Saturday with the adjuster set to 0% (and the first cut sequence set to come in at 1% slip) and it was magnificent. Really shouldn't be able to power around corners at such speeds in the wet. With the settings I'm running, I was getting no sliding at all but never felt like the car was being held back. From looking at the Cut graph on the digi controller, it seems it was just making tiny cuts that were barely noticeable at high rpm.
