The heat of the engine builds up when driving slow or stopping. You could even smell the paint melting above the exhaust manifold... The fan solved that problem. That fan in y our roof scoop, I take it that is speeding up the flow into the engine bay? Interesting and awesome car

Aren't you and the car based in Belgium? Given how many problems another member had with the Belgian MOT and proving drilled brake discs and the blue anti-roll bar where original equipment, will keeping it street legal even be possible.keep it street-legal
Good luck.

Ah good, obviously a little more relaxed than the Belgian authorities.

Dutch MOT (APK) has only some basic safety checks and a simple check on the engine exhaust-gasses.

Few things I need to do before the annual check:
- Make sure the original full-size front license plate is there when they need it
- Make sure that the garage knowns which rmps are best for legal emmission levels (ECU program holds small RMP range which is surprisingly environmental frienldy
![](http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/mellow.png)
- Make sure the color of the car is mostly black (listed in the paperwork)
- Protect the knife-sharp splitter with some protection material

Things I do not have to worry about
![](http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
- Hydraulic handbrake, big brakes, no ABS
- Changes on bodyworks, suspension, wishbones, wheelbase
![](http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.png)
- Engine modifications
![](http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/unsure.png)
- And all the rest....
