the scales on the graph must be wildly fcuked to get them crossing at 2K correction or no correction, emprically BHP/LBft POSITIVELY MUST cross at 5252rpm (on the same scales of course) its a cunning trick by some RR's to either do the graphs sperately or to put power on a different scale to throw you off the scent of 5252rpm crossing ;) my fave test we did was to do a power run with a mustang, then do anotehr with the ambient correction probe in a cup of coffee (wow 150bhp more), then rammed the probe in ice and got fook all power :D that was good fun.

So why are the two lines crossing so low on mine, does that show a mapping/car error or just a major dyno error? There were dyno problems in that the first lot of work got the car to 177 bhp then when it went back to have the other bits added (bigger injectors ITG) they couldnt get it over 165 bhp prior to adding the new bits? Have emailed John but no response yet as I guess hes busy, though he has been really helpful through the whole process and I know hes frustrated by the results we ended up with, but not as much as me as I have to drive a car that isnt half as good as I hoped. dyno/operator error... where was it?

are you 100% sure they dont cross in the right place? Ive seen graphs from DynoDynamics rollers on here that arent on the same scales so it looks wrong....

To digress slightly (but not much) from the topic, Ive had the 2.4L manifold on since the weekend, Im not too impressed so far, my car is standard apart from the K&N cone and the lack of precat. The torque mid range has left the building which is a big shame. It makes me realise what a lazy driver I was using the torque rather than the revs during my driving. I had the FPR on the air inlet as standard but have just blanked the air inlet end and left the FPR end open to atmosphere (suggested by Vocky in one of Daz's threads on z22se to give max fuel pressure - hopefully mpg wont go down to 5 lol ), so Im gonna see how this changes things after an ecu reset. Now to get anywhere it seems you have to give it a lot more lead foot and yes it does go better up the top end, just dont know if I can live with the lack of low down torque for the extra you get up the top end. Im sure in conjunction with a new manifold and beefier exhaust then the torque loss could be recouped, but its all wonga innit (Ive got a house to do up and her indoors to keep quiet  !)

I have a manifold on order with similar mods and am concerned about this exact problem. I think we all rushed into a massive group buy before it was properly proven.

Not all! Some of us couldn't wait for a proven upgrade package and got supercharged instead! :P

All these supercharger owners and their gloating - worse than tubby owners  ;)

Well, its early days yet, drove it for about 50 miles with the FPR pipe off last night to allow the ecu to adjust to the new settings and there is definately an improvement lower down now. I need to keep driving to give a proper assessment though.

Sorry to hijack the thread :P

I need to keep driving to give a proper assessment though. Give it a few weeks driving and the hesitation around the 3-4000 rpm will all but disappear. It takes a bit longer for the ecu to adapt to the 2.4 manifold. Have to say I haven't noticed a major change in torque form 2.2 to 2.4 manifold but have had it on for 4 months now so it is difficult to compair. Cheers Oakmere

I'd far rather have gone the 2.4 mani, 4-2-1, remap route with hopefully a good 190 bhp but this does not currently seem a proven, viable option and I wasn't prepared to wait until it was.

OK then, Im now officially sold on the 2.4 manifold thumbsup chinky chinky , opening the FPR to atmospheric pressure seems to have done the trick so that is definately something to try when you come to fit it.
