and so far not a single thread? WTF?
I can't comment of course as I don't have a PS3, but I expected a flood of comments and screenies......
Come on, what's the verdict? Worth splashing out on a PS3 for? or just another iteration of the same old bloody GT, no damage, crap AI, same annoying constant tyre squeal sample?
Dont get me wrong here I love GT, but frankly I can't believe they have yet to overcome the damage modelling problem, also I gather the online mode in prologue is t!ts.
Its 't!ts' a good or a bad thing?
Fella I work with reckons it'll be the best thing... well, ever! He's played a demo, or the Japanese version, or something and loves the GT games. Could be a GT Fanboy case though? I dont know but if its as good as he's said, and THAT much better than Forza I'll be buying a PS3.

Its not a demo coco, its a prologue. I appreciate the difference is slim but look at this way:
Demo = 1 track and a few cars - Free
Prologue = 6 tracks and, what? 50 cars? - £20
See? SCEE are philanthropists at heart

t!ts is a bad thing, there is no lobby and you can't invite friends. You just pick an event and it chucks you in with a load of random people.

From what I heard (and this may or may not be true) the damage modelling thing was simply because the manufacturers represented in the game wouldn't allow it.

Sorry but thats utter bobbins, all the same manufacturers allow damage in Forza and the Toca series, why should GT be different?
Its like with the last version, they touted multiplayer on the PS2 as a feature and then binned it at the last minute cos it didn't bloody work.
I am not being an xbox fanboy here, I am a frustrated GT fan who is sick of getting the shaft with every version since the first one.
Furthermore; I dont get my kicks from crashing, I simply thing that if you tw@ a car off a tyre wall at 130 mph then the car really really ought not to simply carry on as if nothing happened.
The lack of damage modeling in game will lead to horrendous bumper car style multiplayer, you know exactly what will happen, every time you come to a corner someone will use you as a mobile barrier to stot off and get round the corner leaving you sitting in the gravel screaming at the TV.

" Online race events…. Penalty –inflicting behaviour should be avoided, as should unsportsmanlike behaviour such as quitting races halfway through."
Player will incur penalties for…
• Colliding with other cars
• Ramming others off the road
• Short cuts
Colliding with boundaries
Whether that counts online too I don't know. The game will penalise you by restricting your engine power for a set time.
It's only a game as my wife keeps telling me
