What have I done?

Just picked up this really menacing and scolding v/m from some estate agents, cancelling my two viewings tomorrow. I am to ring them to find out why they are cancelled

Having worked in the diecasting industry, I find it a puzzle that Speedline refuse to produce a batch of the VXR wheel. I presume the die are still in existence therefore its no sweat to recondition the die sets and resume production albeit a limited run. Producing wheels is a batch process and the tool set up costs could be covered by a group buy deal etc.

Any idea what sort of costs would be involved in making a die

Depends on the die tooling design, but several thousand pounds, which makes me think that the die tooling is the property of Vauxhall/GM.

Cheers

Another possibility is that as it was a limited production run GM could have specified a 'Soft' tooling that's only good for a few hunderd parts, we oftern do this for engine development builds.

Otherwise I can't see why Speedline would have a problem in specifying a minimum number needed for a production run.

What sort of price would be expected, using an 8x17" rear wheel (fits fine) instead of the original 7.5x17"; and made by a different manufacturer

OK, I'll put it a different way - would anyone be interested in a set of the above  Using original Speedline fronts and 8"x17" rears, in exactly the same design as the originals

Jas - PM'd thumbsup At the moment it's all subject to offset / casting confirmation. There would be a maximum of five full sets available, but if there's no interest...

I am interested in a set depending on the price, and what about fitting tyres to the rear will the original yokos fit the wider rim or will it involve buying different tyres?

Much more than these will sell for brand new thumbsup :)

I have standard 225/45/17's fitted to my MO6's at the moment, and they use an 8J rear :)

also interested or set of lighter wheels in similar style but in black.

There seems to be two threads going on here

5 isn't the minimum order, it's the maximum - I could have just got a single set for little old me :). I still have to wait for them to confirm they have the correct tooling, but it did sound promising earlier!
