5 isn't the minimum order, it's the maximum - I could have just got a single set for little old me :). I still have to wait for them to confirm they have the correct tooling, but it did sound promising earlier!

I know it's the maximum - I thought I would be the last one?

Or was I too late :( ... bloomin' well hope not!!!

*However* providing they confirm the rears can be made, there is also another option, using a 7.5" wide 16" dia front which would be by the same manufacturer as the rears (hence colour match will be identical etc...)
Effectively, infinite sets of these would be available (and provide some level of future proofing!)
The only downside is that sticky tyres (R888s / A048s) will not fit, as they only make a 55 profile in 205 width, and 205s would be required as the minimum tyre size. The normal road tyres ie T1Rs, Kumhos etc will be available tho thumbsup

Sorry mate, they've already been spoken for if this comes off :(

BTW, the guy is also coming back to me with a min. quantity order for them to produce tooling for a 7"x16" front, so keep watching this space :)

I definately want a set ... I'm in need of some new tyres soon so this is perfect timing. Plus - Some new wheels in black would help my little beast on her way to infinate sexiness :P

Right then - UPDATE :)

Spoke to them again today, they have said they should be able to make the wheels (will have to physically locate the cast, but has been told it's there), but they will need to refurbish the old casting and 'develop' new tooling in order to make a 7" x 16" front in that design. She did point out that this is an old design of wheel, and as such will be very heavy in comparison to modern alloys ( ) but they look great

NOT-SO-GOOD PART:
However, due to the need to refurbish the old cast and tooling, they will require a minimum order of 60 of each wheel (to be expected I guess), hence all change, and there is now a minimum order of 30 sets of wheels :( to add to this, 1 transaction would be required (50% deposit and remainder once ready to ship) They can't take payment individually due to past negative experience with a group buy (and having to refund all payments)

GOOD PART(S):
The rear will be 8" x 17" so 215 to 245 rears can be used (guessing 225 will be the common choice tho!)

The fronts will be 7" x 16" so will take the 195 tyres (ie same size as the Speedlines) and sticky tyres can be used :)

Obviously spares will be available if anything unfortunate were to happen at a future date

And the price:
Fronts - £117+VAT
Rears - £138+VAT

So a set will come in sub £600 including VAT :D

Postage is approx £15+VAT per set (UK) thumbsup

And a bonus: - for no additional charge they can be finished in Black, Silver, White, Gold or Gunmetal

These are them:

Fronts:

They would take 4-6 weeks to manufacture / paint / pack from date of order.

So... can we find 30 people that would want a set, or am I just getting my hopes up!

Ooh a quandry, and how many people want these because they are rare and no one else has them, will they be as desirable when there are lots (60+) about? tempting though

I'm not sure it's rarity that makes them so desirable (tho no doubt it does affect price), more the fact they look so lush :)

Forgot to add (anoth Good Point!)
She said that as they are machined from the cast blanks, they will see if they can lighten them, as the existing design is effectively over-engineered thumbsup

As previously stated count me in, probably the better solution than mixing manufacturers anyway. Noticed from the above photo they have a 4 stud pattern, take it ours will be 5 ? Are the offsets big enough for the front AP brake kit ? Obviously the Speedlines were. Thanks J Anybody want 2 sets :D

Yep - means there's no chance of getting two different shadea of black

They will be the correct fitment (as per my MO6's that I'm running at the moment :))

I'll double check about the AP kit, but can't forsee any probs as there is about 10mm clearance on the Speedlines thumbsup

I would kill for a set of these, but can't justify the expense at the mo.. :( Is it worth somehow crossposting this to our European VX-owning friends to see if there was sufficient interest across the water? Perhaps even enough to convince Compomotive there might be sufficient demand to actually add the wheel to their range (and give me a chance to buy some in a few months time!!)?

:yeahthat: Offering to our European pals might bump the number up!!! TBH i need to wait about a month-ish till i could justify it myself. But it sounds very promising, any 'known' suppliers who'd take a number of set to boost the numbers.
