And another. I built a Tiger Super 6 (2l zetec) it was great fun and still miss the sound and raw acceleration but it became a garage ornament (We just don't have the weather in this country). So I bought the vx and have used it every day for the last 3 years! :D

got a 2l zetec arriving tomorrow 165bhp. feather weight fun.

Stupid car checklist

1. Water proof jacket ( in a bag)
2. Water proof trousers ( in a bag)
3. Heavy warm clothes
4. Warm hat
5. Factor 40 sun cream
6. Shorts
7. Speedcats
8. Lots of spare cash for petrol on the 200 mile trip to the corner shop

Serious chinky chinky in my first week of ownership I got sunburned to a crisp on the Saturday and froze my ballocks off in the pissing rain on the Sunday

Lots of spare cash for petrol on the 200 mile trip to the corner shop - petrol is free i claim it all back as expenses from work, dont have a clue how i get away with it :groupjump: 9. ear plugs for the neighbours 10. hair net for the mrs do you wear a crash helmet to help with breathing?

Speedcats - narrow soled driving type booties from puma,Just be careful in the wet

Id forgotten the earplugs

Ive replaced the windscreen with the aero so at anything above 85 tuts breathing can be a challenge but I didnt have any trouble with the windscreen and doors fitted. I use the helmet when its raining ( because rain hurts ) and when following other vx/elises which spit up a lot of stones into your face. If your planning to go aeroscreen a set of ballistic sunglasses might be worth investing in Wileys

They wont stop anything hitting you in the face but will provide some protection for the eyes chinky chinky

QUOTE - do you wear a crash helmet to help with breathing? Trust me you will need a crash helmet with an aero screen. Ever been hit in the face by a bee at 80mph. Like being smashed with a house brick!!! :o Dave

I have just gone back to basics and bought a Raw Striker today. Toyota 4Age 1600, 170bhp and 8.5K revs, brilliant fun.

How did you get 170bhp out of the 4AGE?

Supercharger?

Cams?

Twin carbs/throttle bodies?

Been reading this thread with interest. People make sacrifices when they get a VX, but these cars are on another level! Respect to anyone who buys a pure weekend thrasher!!! P.S. Has anyone ever driven an Atom? They must be even worse!

I went on a pistonheads kent run last year in my Tiger and a guy in our group was in an atom. By the time we got to the first stop his face looked as if he had chicken pox from all the flies etc hitting him in the face! :o

I got my VXT after 20 yrs of driving various westfields...from fairly tame Lotus Twink powered to screenless/ super light MAD 250 horse XE power then finally a V8.....And I deffo won't be going back to se7en driving anytime soon. I loved all the cars for their different talents (especially the XE cars ability to blow Everything away in mid range acceleration)....but I grew tired of the need to watch the weather all the time. Full waterproofs and skid lid eventually failed to make any wet drive fun. Tiger make a reasonable car though so give it a go I say...you can always go back if it's not for you

after about 5 days of ownership my initial thoughts. handling - need to drive it more to fully exploit it, i get the niggling feeling it will let go with less warning than the vx although 'tigger' has an LSD so should be a bit less of a beast and give me a bit more warning performance - its there, oh yes its there alright economy - not really my main concern, just wish it had a bigger tank so i didnt spend so much of my time on the forecourt dribbling petrol into it. practicality - i fit in it snug as a bug in a rug. passengers, well i cant hear them so it doesnt bother me. there is room for a bagguette and a bag of worthers on the rear parcel shelf and two side pockets for storing packets of chewing gum or tissues. rain - it hurts. but its england, it doesnt rain that often. wind /noise - i now have a permenant facelift and is going deaf. going to get some more earplugs. ice - the 12" sub and 500watt speaker system mean i can listen to r-kelly even at 70mph (where permitted) poof . overall, its everything the vx was but for me as a sunny day only toy suits me better at the moment. if the mrs gets up the duff then we may have to reconsider but for now its all good! :P

I was in Jons car last week when it started to rain. Hard. Felt like someone was shooting needles at me. A lovely car on a sunny day on a track.

And yes on saturday, on a sunny day, on a track i was jealous.

Then it started to rain again  :groupjump:

You've got to be joking me ? Doens't that defeat the point of a se7en type car ?

... just wait until you try driving in hail ;)

I built and used a Kit car 7 while I was at uni, before I went to the VX. Great fun, it had a lovely torquey Pinto with twin sidedraughts and a huge 4:1 exhaust that ended just by my elbow. I can still remember driving home on a summer's night and being able to look down at the blue flames whenever I lifted off. It was awesome. It definitely beats the VX for attention from children too :)

Definitely something you have to try to fully appreciate, but very hard to live with as anything other than a sunny day car IMO :( For a track toy, I can't think of anything more fun for the money though...

yay, got my first opportunity to get intimate with my new machine, seems my right foot is heavier than i thought and i snapped the throttle cable

ended up pushing the little fella up back home (uphill) he showed no remorse and the co-pilot who took over the wheel steering duties kept pressing the brake pedal 'by mistake' poof '. feel totally  now due to a shocking level of personal fitness i need to do some running and improve get my sex pack back.

still its a nice and cheap fix consisting of a pair of mountain bike brake cables and a :drink: to keep me lubed up during the long and arduous 10 minute repair tomorrow evening.

lesson learnt, 1. dont show off to the mrs and 2. carry a spare! :beat:

anyone want to be my personal trainer ? !? :tt:

edit - i need one of these little clamps, before i walk into the hardware store it would be good to know what they are called so i dont look too clueless =-)
