Really! Wow I 've only ever seen a few methanol 'funny' cars do that. You'll have to develop something to keep the front down with all that power.

Same as you said about your race car too. I wish mine could do that! LOL

such is the power that after lot of trial and error there was a technological brake through in trying to keep the front down!!!! :D

Glad you're still over the moon about it. It does put a grin on your face, doesn't it. Any joy with my previous questions? I know you are not a techy, neither am I. However, it would be nice to know.

John pointed out that I had mis-read the post on VXR-online. I really thought he was talking about your car when he described the wheelies. I say that because I (apparantly) had the same set up (turbo rated to 340 theoretical max) as his car and mine never got anywhere near lifting the wheels then and it doesn't now. I just thought that he had made further advances now he can deliver huge amounts of powere to your car.

If his wheelies yours must need more than the picture to hold it on the road. Can't wait to see it.

it wheelies all right and as john said suspension changes at some point! i don't gun it of the line still lifts in second and third though! but will be soon as my car has been excepted in fighting torque in august! so it will be interesting to see how it gets on! i had 270hp last year and was one off the smallest hp engines but did well this time im more and still the smallest to date!
not 3/4 mile though this time, its now 1 mile and a 1/4 mile time check!
i wonder if i will vmax this time

Hi all
update to my stage 5, tms have had my car back to make a few changes as time technology has moved on! as they say the only permanence is change ;)
After 5000 miles of happy motoring at stage 5 during the summer months and a new set of tires! parts were ordered ready, a date was set by ian at tms to turn up! and a short trip to mk was driven! parts were added richard was locked in the dyno bay and a re map session began!!!! after a few days, i received the call its done! upon arrival my keys were handed to me go drive tell us what you think john said with a grin! after 10 mins of warming it up off i went along with kerry as co pilot from tms for a trip out!!! i hit the gas fk fk fk me sorry kerry but for fk sake sorry for swearing  , that's ok kerry said there the only words to use  !!!
I think you are right, but for fk sake its fkin quick, sorry again!!!!
As we were driving i noticed an old airfield that's handy i thought :) ! so down went the go pedal and the roman profanities commenced especially when i changed from 3rd to 4th gear and hit the gas and it started wheel spinning at a ton to ton ten !!!
Handling is the same no changes made, but of course with the time of year feed the accelerator is the key word as aforementioned! and aerodynamics are starting to become a factor with increase of power ie down force requirements!! its defiently at the upper limits now of non airo aids!
Tapping the roof on is the first because after a spirited test drive the roof started to peal off such is the speed of car moving through air!!
Upon my return from my drive i was greeted by the tms team, i deemed the changes satisfactory a small amount of money changed hands for the upgrade and may good weather return soon!

the stats was 337hp and 355lbs of torque
how 331hp and 385lbs of torque

torque and power comes in alot earlier starts pulling at about 2500 and hits peak at 3800 and drops off only to carry on from where it was before so is at 355lbs at 4900!
At the moment i am at a bit of a loss why anyone would want more torque/power but im sure after another 6 months i may change my mind again!

10% improvment in T is extreemly impresive. I have been overseas for the last 2 mths an just got back in my car 2 days ago (it's std power&T) and I was blown away, especialy how willing it is to get to 100 in 3rd. I could only imagine what 385 Torques must be like. On a dry road with sticky rubber can you use WOT in 2nd/3rd?

very impressed, maybe when I am here for a longer period of time ill get the power bug!

So has your car had all the internals done now, shrick cams, gas flowed head etc? Or is it only the turbo & injectors over stage 4 it had done? Sound scarey (but fun), great work by tms aswell thumbsup

330bhp in a VX.....the mind boggles :D Well done to TMS for getting this package reliable. Can I ask whether you've had it on track yet? How did it perform? And if John is reading - what's the general chat about the gearbox? They seem to be absolutely bulletproof but i haven't heard about many cars running 330bhp!

No same old weak rods and crap sand cast pistons! ;)
Standard internals only bolt on changes so to speak as you mentioned with a topping of a few extra bits and bobs!

haven't had any time to do any tracks yet (to much work and other weekend pursuits) will do in 2009, but and this is a big but plenty of spirited drives to date 24k in 3 years!!
the power is controllable under foot and smoothly delivered the power range wide enough as to not lose boost when attacking tight corners ie late braking down shift and power down!!

330bhp in a VX....

Don't know why anyone would need 330bhp in a VX... 147bhp is plenty!
