215/45/17 have the exact same diameter as the 175/55/17 and will fit the 17 x 7.5 inch rear rims :) Question is, will it rub?

Is it just the wheel liners that rub, or is it the wheel arch also? Are you running standard wheels then and what tyre sizes? Mine isn't lowered.

Is yours lowered? I'm assuming 215/45/16 and 235/40/17 rears?

Do you have 215/45 rears also then? Maybe I will have to swap the back and fronts to see if they rub. But 225 is more likely to rub.

I wouldn't drive too fast when you try that

Hmm, I'm going to give it a go without spacers first see if it rubs. Mines not lowered so it may just be ok. Thanks for your advice.

I have team Dynamics 7x17 and 8x18 with Toyo R888. Bought these from Badster Anders in Sweden. They rub at full turn. (Especially if the shocks are compressed). The grip is excellent but the steering trails a lot on well worn roads. In Norway a lot of people use studded winter tires that takes a hard toll on the asphalt.

I swapped the fronts and rear, I have to say it tramlines a lot with 225 on the front. How do you find the handling of your car since you did the swap? Also, where did you get your spacers from? Mine rubs the inside rear half of the wheel arch on full lock with 225 standard wheels and no spacers... not lowered.

Standard eBay 8mm spacers and eBay for the longer wheel bolts stil get a slight rub when reversing on full lock 😡 Not noticed a lot of tram lining with 215 tyres and it seems better but I changed mine 3 years ago and my Original skinny bike tyres on the front were old cracking and knackered so anything would have Ben better 😃

Where yours something like this then?

Also, after fitting 8mm spacers, was there much lip left on the hub for the wheel to sit on or is the cars weight fully supported by the bolts?

That's what I used hub centrics would be better I guess but couldn't find any that thin , and there is not much spigot left but enough to to centre the wheel

Yeah, I'm really struggling to find any hubcentric ones, only found one at £40

http://www.superform...t.html?___SID=U

But because it's only 8mm there is no lip on the spacer and what's the point in hubcentric if you have no lip?

Also, the offset of the standard front it e26 and rear e36, so if I wanted to make the rear wheels have the same offset as the front I would need a 10mm spacer. I'm assuming a 10mm spacer would leave no lip?
