Was just wondering what the 0-60 and 0-100 times would be for my stage 2 tubby? anybody done any timed runs? I know its not only what the car is about but im just interested to know. cheers

We will probably struggle to match the quoted figures as with all manufactures they have no problems keeping their foot flat on the floor and thumping it through the gears, without the use of the clutch. Watched the making of the elise video and they destroyed a few transmissions getting their time. Having used that method in a couple company/hire cars it works well but i aint brave enough to do in it the vx.

I'm getting 4.56secs 0-60 on the GtechPro. Thats with TC on and 227bhp, rolling roaded 12th July. (The RR figure may be low as we didn't have a fan on the intercooler so the boost tailed off quickly.)

If you get one of these: www.perfomancebox.co.uk they're good to keep track of any of the changes you make to your car and they're also useful for track and generally a bit of a gadget It also shows the real world is a far cry from manufacturers stats. A friend of mine used it to try it on his Litchfield STi mega scooby and in three attempts the best he could get was 5.6 seconds - he was applying some mechanical sympathy and the car kept bogging down. I did it in my Stage 2 and launching from 2500 rpm got 5.2. In gear times give a better picture. Theoretical times for the Stage 2 in ideal conditions with semi slicks would be about 4.2 and 11. But that is purely pub talk.

Fastest I managed was 5.1 in my stage 2 using an ELM327 and OBDII software to monitor. That was without a full launch and before I got sticky tyres. Will have to do it again to see the difference.

I'm using this >CLICKY< which is a bit cheaper than the P'Box, but has good reports for accuracy. 4.56 best and usually around the 4.9sec mark 0-60.

I feel I could pull that down if I didn't care about my clutch and gearbox (or could drive worth a toss ).

Does it really matter how fast your car does these times in?

I mean would it really offend your ego so much - to know that you are already faster than most other cars on the road - that you want figures as well?

No offence - but if you're bothered, find out for yourself and either fit the bits to do the timing for you or dyno your car. Every car is going to be different so asking others what they get is a little vague. But I would like to think that Vaux didn't lie to us about top speed so why would they lie about 0 - 60 etc?

I'm in a very bad mood so please excuse me for my little grump.

Sometimes its just nice to know these things.

If you have a nokia N series phone with GPS you can get a symbian application called "racechrono", it uses the built in GPS and you can use it to calculate acceleration times, and other bits and bobs, you can also upload tracks to it via their website so you can assess laptimes on trackdays. Plus its free!!!!

My recent sold stage 2 with vxr turbo did it in: 0-60 - 4.47 4.16 4.34 0-100 - 10.2 10.58 10.06 Did this with my mate timing me on a stopwatch, so not 100% accurate, lol.

I feel an event brewing out of this topic be really good to compare specs, but we all know its not all about straight line speed I dont care so much what mine does but nice to know and agree to get the best time you really hurt the car My Stage 4 (never been a fan of the who stage 2,3,4 etc just set them up for what you want ) before my recent mods was 0-113mph in 12.3secs feel a high 11 is possible now

Well you are talking 250hp vs about 295 I think. A tubby is approx 930kg and your NA(875kg) with the SC bits bolted on weighs (as a guesstimate) 890 that gives you
0.28bhp per kg and the tubby 0.32bhp per kg (If Ive worked it out right ). So you have less power per kg.
That doesnt tell the whole story though cos youve got the torque to consider too.

stage 4 tubby is about 320lbft i think?, no idea on the SC
