RIP Chris. I'm not saying it would have helped here at all but it's never a bad idea to have full harnesses and a decent fire extinguisher, if I'm ever in a big accident I'll be glad of them.

having been away from this forum for a while, this is a sad thread to come back to. It really makes you think about all of those what ifs we have all had. Although i.ve never met chris, if he was anything like the other forum members i have met then he would be a real top character. My condolences to all others involved, as echoed by the majority of other posts here. I think it shows a real sign of respect that such a high proportion of forum members are posting their condolences here. I will keep checking this to see progress of the passenger and to see as and when details are added. Rip chris

I cant really add anything thats not been said already. I didn't know Chris but feel genuinely sad for a horrible waste of a live and of a fellow petrolhead. RIP. The press talk sh1t. They want a story when one does not nessecarily exist, so you have to take what is said with a huge pinch of salt. NAP1

I haven't posted on here in a while and it deeply saddens me that I be writing in such awful circumstances. I never knew or met Chris, but yet like so many others on here have been touched by this terrible tragedy. Everyone on this forum shares the same common interest....the love and passion of driving our little plastic cars. This site is more than just a forum......for so many it becomes an extended family of people willing to share their time, advice, experiences etc. Chris VX220 was part of that family and for that he will always be remembered. My sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and all that knew him and I really hope the female passenger pulls through. xx Em

Another link, no more information, may just help people remember him. The picture and personal information makes me feel real sick to be honest. So young.

This has really affected me as I knew him and I will think twice on future runs.

Very sad to read about this tragic loss of life. I guess everyone needs to be careful in their cars. I don't care who you are we have all done things in our cars we shouldnt have, and seen things happen you wonder how they never had an accident or worse. I know i have and after reading this thread am happy things turned out right for me. It seriously makes you think twice.

To add to what I've said previously: as others have mentioned, this has really made me think and I have driven a lot more carefully in the last few days. I know this is of little salvation to Chris' family and friends at this time, but he continues to do good: every time I drive Vince, Chris will be in my heart speaking the voice of reason. x
