Update
Update regarding fatal collision – Water Oakley Windsor
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is no longer investigating the matter referred to them on the night of the collision.
Having conducted their inquiries, they are satisfied for the investigation to be conducted locally by Thames Valley Police.
Officers continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding Saturday night’s (2/8) collision which occurred along the A308 Maidenhead to Windsor Road.
Twenty-three-year old Christopher Ramirez, who was living with a family member in Windsor, died after his vehicle collided with two other vehicles – VW Golf and a Ford Fiesta - outside the Oakley Court Hotel at around 11.40pm.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.
His passenger, a female, remains in hospital this afternoon where her condition has been described as critical.
Anyone with information who has not yet come forward is urged to contact Sgt James Upton on 0845 8505505. If you don't want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

To add to what I've said previously: as others have mentioned, this has really made me think and I have driven a lot more carefully in the last few days.
I know this is of little salvation to Chris' family and friends at this time, but he continues to do good: every time I drive Vince, Chris will be in my heart speaking the voice of reason.

This awful news has made me think a lot over the last few days too. It's hard to find the words, but if any good can come from this, it's that we all think about our driving a little bit.
It does make you think about how very important life is too. I was deeply moved reading Chris's family's statement on the Thames Valley website, especially his sister's words.

They were on there way back to chris's sisters house along the windsor road he was going about 60 (that is the speed limit) the car in front was going about 40 so he went to overtake and cleared the car he overtook but hit the curb wen he pulled in which sent him in to a spin and into an oncoming Golf!! They hit driver to driver and as far as we know Chris was killed instantly!!! It was a tragic accident and he payed the ultimate price but he didnt deserve some if the comments left on here from some others!!! xx
we all do use the car and all enjoy the power of it ...... simple costly mistake just make you aware its only a fiberglass box and i do think about it all the time i drive the car (not at the moment)
i knew chris and he did respect the car and the power of it ...
