RIP
Please bear in mind when the term "persued" is mentioned it does not necessarily mean it failed to stop. It could well mean the police were not seen by the driver. It could also be the case that the police vehicle was persuing the VX because it could not keep up with it.
For instance, you're on a spirited drive, you pass a police vehicle emerging from a sliproad or elsewhere, but you're unaware of it, you carry on driving as normal, the police vehicle unless it is something special is not going to keep up, or indeed gain on it. With the noise and poor rear view vision of a VXT it's quite possible you're not going to see a police car in the rear view mirror which may well be a fair distance away and falling further behind.
Don't jump to conclusions...

My sympathies to the families and hoping the passenger pulls through OK

If the officers were pursuing without 2 tones/lights you'd be marking time on the red carpets of force HQ.
fail to stop reasons: drink driving / no licence /no insurance / drug dealing lol, or spirited driving just far away enough for the driver to think he could quickly drive away to avoid a telling off.
now this chap is clearly a respectable man so several of the possibilities can be discounted- who cares a loss of life has occurred. I hope that this chaps gf pulls through.
Also i feelto the officers at the scene of the crash, which is never nice.
i got to work and saw this matter:

My condolences to all those directly involved and their families.
Goodness knows what really happened, maybe the copper wasnt giving it the 'blues and twos' and the VX driver was just showing off/road racing without knowing there was indeed a police persuit going on. Either way, people make mistakes and it is a terrible shame that this was the outcome.Rest in peace
Many moons ago after dropping a girlfriend home I noticed a car was follwoing with a couple of blokes in it. No sirns, lights etc... I thought it looked dodgy so I hammered and lost them... The girlfriend called me next day, they had returned to her house asking for my address, they were police aperently... it's not always obvious late at night if no signs are given.

My thoughts go out to every one involved and to the families.
If this is who I think it is then I met him at one meet as he was asking about the dump valve fitted to my car, seemed a nice guy like all the people I have met at any meets I've been to.
Tragic event.
Lets hope the gf makes a full recovery
