I'd just like to add my condolences to all those effected by the accident. Having gone through a family bereavement years ago I'm sure they'll appreciate the flowers and messages we're putting up here, as small a gesture as they are. Hopefully they'll get some comfort from remembering the joy he derived from his car, it seems like he had a group of buddies with a similar passion, something we can all relate to here. Best wishes to the passenger too, I hope she recovers fully.

Thirdly, with regard to the inaccuracy of the initial reports, isn't there anywhere that can be used to make a formal complaint as far as this "exarrated reporting protocol" is concerned. It must have made a difficult time even harder to read for Chris's Friends.

i think you will find the bbc reported it exactly as the Thames valley police site did:

http://www.thamesval...amp;artid=15843

a blue Vauxhall VX220 car was being pursued by a marked police vehicle

whether it was 1 second or 1 minute is a different matter :(

Did you not think thats friends and family of chris would come on here and see what you have written. Im actually a best friend of chris and for you to write something like that is just heartbreaking. Yes he was travelling at speed which i am sure you do in your car too,and it was not a persuit but no way did he deserve what happened to him. So thanks for your rudeness . Every 1 else.. yes if u pm me i will send you all his familys address and flowers and cards will be more than appreciated at such a sad time. Just to let you know, the girl in the car was his brothers girlfriend she is still in a very bad way. Thank you all Zoe x R.I.P CHRIS XXX MISS YOU FOR EVER

As I read this so are 17 other members, I think that says a lot on a forum of our size. I did not know Chris but clearly he was highly thought of. All I can add - a terrible tragedy. My condolence to all concerned.

Just read the whole thread and very sad to hear the news. Clearly emotions are running high and a few people have said the wrong things having not understood the whole situation. Im glad Chris enjoyed his car and clearly made the most of it by joining the forum and doing the meets. If any good can come from such a terrible accident, it would be that we all take a bit more care and save the fast driving for the track. Very sorry, Robin

If it wasn't a pursuit, then I hope Morgan1922 is the first to apologise after his potentially misguided comments were made!

Never judge a book by its cover.

Just been to the crash site to lay some flowers. R.I.P chris. I know you since 2007 at London to Brighton vx meet. Chris was a top bloke, with a heart of gold, loved by everyone, always up for a laugh, and has help me number of times with my vx's. we're gonna miss him bigtime!
